Nope, I am not talking about that visitor which makes us girls go unreasonably crazy every month. (laughs) I am talking about Glambox!
^_^
So what's in this month's box? Here they are:
Bioderma Sensibio Makeup Remover - Shea Mirrage - Lolita Empicka Le Premier Parfum - Carita Serum Parfait - Carita Diamant De Beaute Nuit
Bioderma Sensibio H2O
A skin cleanser and makeup remover for people with sensitive skin. I've tried this before (read/watch my video review here) but I remember it was labelled as Crealine, not Sensibio. Now what's the difference? Nothing really. I've read that Crealine is being sold in France while Sensibio is being sold mostly in Asia and some European countries. This by far is the most gentle makeup remover that I've tried. There's absolutely no sting, no redness or any allergic reactions. It's like water, but it is not water! Skin feels refreshed after usage and it can also take off waterproof mascara, though it takes a little time to do so.
The leaflet that comes with the box says it sells for 100AED/35ml. I am pretty sure it's just a typo because this little bottle is already 100ml and I don't think they have a 35ml container. And if they do, I will not ever buy that for 100 dirhams! So I'm guessing, it's 35AED for this 100ml.
Lolita Empicka Le Premier Parfum
(AED290 / 50ml, AED395 / 100ml)
This is the 3rd Lolita Empicka I got from Glambox, and so far, this one is my favourite. It just smells so delicious! It has the right mixture of warmth and sweetness. It does smell a bit heavy at first but it gradually develops to a pleasant candy scent that lasts. I've put some on my wrist the night I got the box and I can still smell it on me the next day. And the bottle? Just gorgeous! I would love to get this in full size!
SHEA Mirrage Shea Butter
(AED90 / 50ml)
Shea butter is known for its unparalleled healing and moisturizing effects on the skin. I remember using a brand of Shea butter in the past when my skin went so dry and my usual application of petroleum jelly just didn't work anymore. This one is made from 100% Certified Organic East African Shea butter that is highly nourishing and effective in healing dry and cracked skin, eczema, psoriasis and sun-damaged skin. So just imagine how good this stuff is. I've been using this one that I got from the box as a lip balm and my lips never felt this smooth! I am also using it as an emergency moisturizer especially now that my skin's flaking again because of Obagi. So far, no allergic reactions!
Carita Diamant De Beaute Nuit
(AED2100 / 50ml)
A regenerating midnight concentrate which promises skin rejuvenation while you sleep, making you look awake and refreshed as if you've had 12hrs of sleep. It claims to fade away wrinkles and dark spots too and give skin a luminous, youthful glow.
Carita Le Serum Parfait
(AED1200 / 30ml)
The ultimate anti-ageing elixir and claims to be a radiance-youth activator, this serum has the three-gold complex, which is a result of the combination of pure mineral gold, plant gold and biological gold.
I got so curious about this brand, Carita. The products come with a steep price tag and a too-good-too-be-true claims. They are made in Paris and is indeed a luxury brand. I honestly want to try the samples but 1) I don't think these would be enough to see results. For skincare, you should use the products for say, 2 weeks, at the least to see results And 2) I'm scared that they might work in just a few uses (who knows!?) and I get hooked! I'll die when that happens. (laughs)
By the way, this month's box also come with a voucher for a complimentary meal at St. Tropez Bistro (purchase of the same or greater value is required) and a 20% off coupon code at Namshi.
So, what do you think of this month's box? Honestly, I am not too satisfied with it. Yes, I am able to get this box for free (thanks, Glambox Middle East!) but what if I am a paying customer? I'm pretty sure I won't get excited with a couple of miniature samples in exchange of my AED80. Yes, they have included samples from this Carita brand, but they are just too tiny. A travel size would have been better! Or maybe a full size of the Shea butter, at least? Maybe I'm asking too much but back in the Philippines, the boxes usually have one or two (or more) products in full size, or a travel size at the least.
But like what I've said in my previous Glambox posts, these beauty boxes are either a hit or a miss. Sometimes you'd be happy to get your box and sometimes, you'll also be like "I want my money back!" I got all excited with their last month's box, but this one, I feel like they could've done better.
By the way, if you're a Glambox subscriber, you get to have a Loyalty Glamcard:
As long as you're subscription is active, you can use your Glamcard and enjoy discounts and deals from their participating partners. Check out what their participating partners have in store for you here.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that next month's box will again make me go "WOW!"

Hmmm... The premium samples are nice, but they could've included a bunch of small samples if they couldn't give away full-sized ones. That would've raised the perceived value of the box.
