What's up, my lovelies? Yours truly went MIA again but I guess there's nothing new about that anymore, right? Hahaha! Oh well, if only I could focus on my blog like I used to years ago. If you're not following me on IG yet, please do so as I post there often. Too often, actually.
So for today, it's gonna be about this line of nail polish that I am loving ATM. What I love about these polishes is that they keep my nails looking good for 4-5 days before they start chipping. And that for me is already good since polishes only last 1-2 days then it starts chipping because I think I wash my hands too much and I apply hand cream too often. These nail polishes have the finish of a gel polish but without the need to cure under a UV light. They're cheaper and is easy to remove too. I love using gel polish on my nails because they really stay put until you have them removed but I have a number of things I don't like about it too. I usually prefer having gel pedicure because since I am always wearing closed pumps, I need something that won't chip or break. But for my hands, I want something that will give me the effect of gel polishes without the "complications" and long period of "commitment." LOL!
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Nail Color (AED 43) and Miracle Gel Top Coat (AED 45)
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in How Nude
How Nude is definitely a great nude shade. It's perfect to pair with almost any wardrobe. This shade reminds me of my favourite nude from one of the local polish brand back in PH. which I remember wearing when I was still in school because it's such a pretty and safe colour. I love nude shades because they are very minimalistic but they do a great job in making your nails look polished.
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Redgy
Redgy is a bright, red-orange. While I love reds, I try to stay away from orange since I feel like it makes my hands look darker. But this particular shade is the perfect mixture of both colors and instead of making my hands look dark, it kinda does the opposite.
Wine Stock is a nice vampy red, which I think is a great nail polish colour for fall. I lean towards darker shades of polish because my hands look whiter with them. What I don't like about darker colors on the other hand is that it looks so obvious once it starts chipping.
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat
This top coat is the newest offering from this Miracle Gel line. The previous top coat has been and now it offers 2x the volume, making your nails look extra fuller while giving it a high-gloss, mirror-shine finish. Actually, the nail colours are pretty much glossy by themselves but this top coat really gives that gel-like finish and pretty much helps in making the polish stay on longer.
These polishes, just like the other polishes from Sally Hansen is such a breeze to apply. They have a wider-than-the-usual brush applicator which I think can be a problem if you have tiny nails but once you get the hang of it, you'll love it because you'd only need 1-2 strokes to cover the entire nail. They are also very pigmented and goes on almost opaque in one layer. Drying time is fairly fast, but not as fast as the usual quick-dry polishes. As for the shine, it starts getting to look dull on the 4th day on me. But as I've mentioned earlier, I wash my hands and apply hand cream too often so that's one probable reason too.
As for the 14-day chip-free promise, I don't think that's something one should hold on to. I personally think only gel-manicures/pedicures could go that long without any chipping. But I can say that this kind of nail polishes is the next best thing to gel polish. It's something that can be done right at the comfort of your own home and it's cheaper!
So what do you think? Would you settle for these kind of nail polishes or you'd go for the real thing? Lemme know in the comments box below!
