I've heard about the brand La Prairie before, but haven't really gotten the chance to try any of their  products yet.  I must admit, I got intimidated right after knowing that their prices are just like that of La Mer's, more expensive even.  I used to think that beauty products with skyrocket prices are just overrated, but Mom swears by La Mer, so I guess I should stop being judgmental and let brands like La Prairie prove their worth.   So when I got the chance to attend my very first La Prairie event, I made sure I'd be able to go and finally know what's so special about their products. The event was held at the posh Voda Bar at the Zabeel Saray Hote l in Jumeira.  The hotel by the way is so gorgeous, I wish I had taken some photos.  But I just got so shy I wasn't able to take selfies.  Yes, selfies!  Of course, I would want to be in the photos too! ^_^ Voda Bar entrance

And so I'm back with another lip product to show you.  And if you are thinking it's just another nude-ish/peachy/MLBB shade, then you are soooo RIGHT! ^_^ What can I do, they are the colours I am most comfortable with.  And husband-approved too, well at least in my case.  If you follow me on Instagram, you'd see a post of me wearing a loud pink lippie (Rimmel Apocalips in Nova) and guess what, Mr. X immediately gave me a stare.  No words needed, it just means "take that off!" (laughs)  Of course, I didn't budge.  But he didn't look so pleased and kept on rolling his eyes on me whenever I go checking on my puckers.  Ohh, (some) men just don't understand! Oh yes, I'm baaccck!  I know, it's not the first time I went MIA on this blog so I'm pretty sure you're already used to that. But I still want to explain myself why.  The reason of my sort of blogging-hiatus for some weeks was I focused on studying!  Yep, I finally decided on pushing thru with some certifications in line with my field and I took the first one last Thursday.  And I passed!  Woo-hoo!  Okay, it may not really be a big deal but I wasn't really expecting that I would pass.  I had a hard time studying (old age, maybe?) and I admit, I'd rather read about makeup.  So, I was literally trying so hard to stuff my little brain with a lot of geeky information. I could hear my heart beating so fast as I get nearer to the end of the exam. And when the score flashed at the end, I was like.."Oh yeaaah!" ^_^  Funny that someone actually thought that the reason why I haven't been writing much is that because, I am no longer getting...

   Last week, I attended the press conference for the unveiling of the Mall of the Emirates ' Fashion District , the new address of contemporary fashion in Dubai.  Presenting a dynamic collection of modern brands, with influences from fashion's most enviable cities, Fashion District houses luxury labels like Halston Heritage, McQ by Alexander McQueen and Sandro . There are more than 30 contemporary stores in the 5000 square meters fashion destination, a refreshing mix of debut and existing brands to create the stylish new landmark for the city. Here are some photos taken at the event held at the Kempinski Hotel: Before the actual press conference, the attendees were ushered to this embellishment section so they can get to choose what type of design and embellishments they want to have on their souvenir shirts.

But let's see what he's up to for today.  Tee-hee.  By the way, it's payday weekend + V-day for you there back in PH, so if you're going out on a date later, be prepared to be caught in traffic!  But as long as you'd get caught in traffic with that special someone in your life, I don't think that would be a problem. Cheesy much!  Hahaha.  Anyways, should you not be able to celebrate it today, there are a lot of days to do so.  Besides, every day can be Valentines Day, right!?    Going ...

If Anne Curtis' signature lip color is Red, then it's Pink for our very own Queen of All Media, Kris Aquino.   And for the first time, Kris collaborated with a makeup brand to co-create a lipstick inspired by her favourite pop of pink.
