Definitely not for the faint-hearted, the shades in this collection are all about being loud, standing out in a crowd and fun, fun, fun.  I'm not sure about you, but the colours are just so summer-y!  I know it's raining almost everyday here in Manila but if you still want that summer vibe, then go and paint your nails with these. Not sure what colour to wear? Why not wear them all then?

Happy Skin X Preview Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Matte Lippies in Too Cool and Hot Stuff

I know these lippies have been out for almost two months now, but what the heck, I still want to share my own thoughts about it.  When I got back here in PH, these lippies are the first ones that I looked for when we went to the mall. These are limited editions and after seeing swatches online, I just knew I had to get my hands on them.

Preview X Happy Skin Lippies
Preview X Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippies

Preview Magazine collaborated with Happy Skin Cosmetics to come up with these editorial-worthy, limited-edition matte lippies for their 20th Anniversary.  I'd say editorial-worthy because the shades aren't really for everyday use (and for the faint-hearted, LOL!)  But if you don't give a damn on what people would think about you on why you are wearing attention-grabbing lip colors such as these, then go ahead.
Kebs sa mga pamatay na titig!

Madonna The Rebel Heart Tour Is Coming To Manila

Madonna in Manila

The Queen of Pop is coming to Manila! Yes folks, it's confirmed, she'll be in PH for a ONE NIGHT concert as part of her Rebel Heart Tour.

My reaction?  WHYYYYYYY!!!???  I mean, why not now that I am here!?  Sniff.  I can book another  ticket to fly back in February but what if our plans push through this year?  If that happens, I won't be able to travel. Of course our plans are MORE IMPORTANT but to see Madonna in flesh performing her ultimate hits is also a dream of mine. Oh well, I guess I will just have to see her in another time.  Hopefully she'll come back to UAE soon.  If that happens, I'll be the first one to buy a ticket. And a VIP ticket at that! Choz!

Her much-awaited concert will be held at the 12000-seater MOA Arena in Pasay City  on February 24, 2016. OMG, just thinking about being able to attend is already giving me goosebumps. I am imagining that a lot of people attending will be in their best Madonna costumes.  Heck, I would do too! Oh, if only. (sigh)

There are a lot of "rumours" circulating that VIP tickets are priced at almost Php50k, but that is yet to be confirmed as tickets will only go on sale starting this Sunday, July 26 at 10AM through SM ticket outlets.

Tickets on Pre-sale:
For members of Icon, Madonna's official fans club, they will receive a special coded to access the pre-sale tomorrow, July 21 at 10AM.
For citi cardholders, you are also eligible for a pre-sale starting July 22 at 10AM until July 23.

(Sigh) I really am broken-hearted. Korny man, but my god, I grew up listening to Madonna's songs. I think I still I know most of her songs by heart, yung mga "classics" ha!? My favorite? Shempre pa, the walang kamatayang "Material Girl," "Papa Don't Preach," "Like A Virgin," "Crazy for you," etc. Lost na ako when it comes to her recent recordings.   She was my Mom's favorite. Was, since she likes Shakira more daw ngayon. Me? I'll forever be a Madonna fan.  Oh yes, pagdating kay Madonna, may Forever!
^_^

So, are you attending? And if you are, care to share what your outfit will be? Ako (if only), I'll come in an outfit like this one:

Soap & Glory Bath and Body Products

It's a Monday once again!  It was a long weekend here in PH so I hope you guys had a great weekend.  'twas the same thing back in UAE but I'm not sure if they are back to work today.  Whatever the case may be, I just hope that the extra days off were enough to re-energize you all for another week of working.  Just stay focused, happy and keep on smiling!

Today I'll be sharing with you some of the Soap and Glory products that I got a while back. It's not the first time I come across this brand. The first product that I got to use from Soap & Glory was the pore detox mask that I bought when I was in Dubai for the first time, back in 2012.  I have used it for quite some time and I believe I was able to finish a tube but haven't really gotten into posting a review (my bad!)  So now, I'll be including a bit of review for each of the product that I got as a sample.  Just so I won't forget, like the first time.

Soap & Glory Hand Food
Soap & Glory Hand Food
I can't say if this is indeed the most astonishing hand cream ever, but what I can say is that this is the most delicious-smelling hand cream I've ever tried. This contains shea butter, macadamia oil and marshmallow. Yes, marshmallow! So just imagine how good this smells.  It feels so luxurious but it doesn't leave my hands feeling greasy and sticky.

How To Cook Pork Binagoongan (with Eggplant)

Happy Sunday, my loves!  Linggo na at hindi pa din ako nakakaligo, har har har.  TMI, I know. Don't worry, I sponge bath twice a day and I don't have BO to begin with, so keribels! Hehehe! Pero honestly, I miss taking a bath, the normal way!  But as per my doctor, dehins pa pede. I'll be seeing him on Thursday for my checkup and hopefully, he'll give me a go-signal after.  Kaya I really wish that my wound heals fast. For that, I drink a lot of pineapple juice and I don't move as much. I also didn't insist on getting those waterproof plasters that I can wrap my wound with just to be able to take a bath since he said there are some cases na nagkakamoist yung wound.  I try (hard) to be as obedient as possible.  Tiis-tiis na muna.

And since it's still a weekend in this part of the world (oh yes, I am still in Pinas!) I'll be posting a recipe of one of my favorite dishes. Well, it became a favorite just recently.  It all started when I began cooking it, hahaha! Kidding aside, this recipe is easy to follow and since this has vinegar, it will not get spoiled easily.  Just put it inside the fridge and pop it in the microwave or heat it in a pan. Like the adobo, this dish becomes more delicious the longer you store it. Ika nga, mas matagal, mas sumasarap.

Ingredients:

garlic (as you can see, I love using loads of garlic in my cooking)
onion

tomatoes

pork
(can't remember which part, I wish I could say belly but I just noticed na merong kasamang buto dito sa photo hehe!)

shrimp paste
(I prefer using the cooked bagoong, the one you can buy in bottles like the one above.  I like spicy food, hence the spicy variant. I think they also have sweet or the regular variants)

green chilli peppers
(some would prefer putting them whole but since I love the hint of spice, I slice them in diagonal like in the photo above)

sliced eggplant
(this is optional. I just love eating talong with bagoong so, why not?)

Seafood Feast at Dampa Seafood Grill

Since I cannot indulge in good food at the moment because I am still recovering from the operation, let me just satisfy myself (and you) with the great food that I and Mr. X had during one of our dinner nights back in the sandpit.

Dampa Seafood Grill
Dampa Seafood Grill

I've been waiting for a chance to try out this newest seafood joint in Dubai since it opened. So when Mr. X asked me one weekend where I want to have dinner after hearing mass, I immediately said, "Dampa!" Mr. X doesn't really like dining out for seafood as he prefers having it at home but since he asked me, he didn't really have a choice.  Hehehe!  I told him I've read a lot of good reviews about the place and besides, what can go wrong when dining in a seafood restaurant?

Thanks to WAZE, we didn't have a hard time locating the place. We arrived a few minutes after 6pm and we saw a lot of people already waiting outside to be seated.   Actually, we were really not surprised as the restaurant has become famous to not only kabayans but other nationalities as well, since the day it opened. We had our name listed and though we were told that waiting time can be from 30-45 minutes, we still patiently waited as I really cannot wait for another day to try the food in this resto.

So when "Miss Kris" (Mr. X gave his name and they thought it was my name, hence the Miss) was called, I got so excited that I didn't even bother asking if we are going to be seated outside or inside.  Good thing we were seated inside as I don't think I'd be able appreciate al fresco dining during summer in Dubai.

Thank you!

To all those who took time to visit me in the hospital, to those who sent me their well-wishes and to all those who included me in their prayers, Thank You!

After 4 days of staying in the hospital, I am now back home recovering. The operation went well, and I finally said goodbye to my dysfunctional tubes.  Good thing we opted for an open surgery instead of laparoscopy because if we pushed thru with the latter, they will still end up cutting me open because of the adhesions between one of the tubes and the ovary.

I now have a 5-6in bikini-cut wound on the lower abdomen.  This somehow gives me an idea how it feels to give birth via CS. I'm sure CS is a lot harder because despite the pain you are feeling, you also have a baby to take care of.  I am still in pain but I can manage it. Buti na lang din I have a high pain tolerance.  The only thing that I hate is that I was advised not to take a bath until my next checkup with my doctor. And that is on Thursday next week. Que horror!  That means I will have to rely on sponge baths for a week. Sniff! Tomorrow, I'll whip up some ninja moves so I can have my hair washed.  I feel so sticky all over!

Again, thank you to all those who have given me a bit of their time to see me.  Also, I am thankful that I have again reconnected with a good friend whom I thought I have lost forever.  You know who you are. I promise I will not let anything come between our friendship ever again.

I am a step closer to my ultimate dream of having a baby.  When I get back to UAE, I will give myself 2-3 months to fully recover and then I will start with the IVF process.  It's again going to be a tough road but I am putting my full trust in the Lord that if it is in accordance to His will, He will grant us our wish.  Please continue to pray for us too and for everybody who wishes to have their bundles of joy.

God bless u all!

The Reason Why

Oh yeah, I got myself a new bracelet:

I still don't have the other one which is for my left wrist though and I don't really look forward to getting it soon. As per my doctor, I'll get it an hour before THE PROCEDURE. If only I could get away with not having it. I just hope the nurse who'd be attaching it on me is an expert and that my wrist (or the back of my palm/hand) won't end up being sore just because the nurse couldn't it get on the right nerve. (scared)

So what exactly is the reason why I am having a staycation here in the hospital?

I'll be undergoing a bilateral salpingectomy, folks. To put it simply (para iwas nosebleed), i'll be having both of my fallopian tubes removed. Why? They are both blocked (one totally and one partially, talk about being unlucky) and that's why I didn't get pregnant after all these years.  Hopefully this is the ONLY reason why I am not getting pregnant.  I was first diagnosed with this sometime in 2010. Then in 2011 and was given 3 options: 1) still try to conceive the natural way since I have one tube which is partially blocked, 2) unblock both tubes then try to conceive the natural way and 3) do the IVF but to make sure that I won't have ectopic pregnancy, remove the blocked tubes first.   At that time, me and Mr. X were still not together, him being in the UAE and me being here in PH, so we didn't push thru with any of the options. It was only last year when we decided to start seeing a specialist again and know what will be the best option for us.

The June 2015 Glambox

We're on the 2nd week of July and I am posting this just today? Seriously?  Well,  as they say, it's better  late than never!
^_^

June 2015 Glambox

Termed by Glambox as their Arabian Nights themed box, this box has a touch of both modern and international beauty picks.  It has skincare, makeup, fragrance, nail care and what excites me the most, a generous strip of temporary body stickers inspired by henna tattoos.

Let's check them out one by one, shall we?

Jergens Smoothing Oud Dry Skin Moisturizer
(AED24 / 600ml)

Inspired by Oud, referred to as probably the most expensive oil in the world, this moisturizer hydrates and improves skin texture paving the way for a visibly smoother, more luminous-looking skin. The scent is a pleasant mixture of sweet, woody, aromatic and musk. I initially thought the scent might be too strong for my liking, but I was wrong.  I get to appreciate it more once applied on the skin. I like using it at night to safe guard my skin from getting dry because of the AC and give my skin that lovely fragrance that really lulls me to sleep.

Back in Pinas

with Mom and Sam

Oh yes, I am back in PH!  I really hope it's for good, but it isn't.  After being out of the country for almost two years, I can say that nothing feels like home than being in your bayang sinilangan.  Iba talaga sa Pinas. I will not trade it with any other place in the world.  But for now, me and Mr. X just have to do what we gotta do. Tiis-tiis muna and eventually, both of us will be home. And hopefully, we'll be with our bundle of joys.  Can you please help us pray for that? Pretty please?

I'm back for a one month vacation. To be honest, I'm not really here for a vacation.  I went home for an operation and though I can have it done in the UAE, I preferred to go home so I'd be with my family too.  Too bad, Mr. X wasn't able to come home with me but I am sure that I have his 100% support and prayers.  No, I am not sick.  But we can actually say that too, but really, I am not. Confusing? Hahaha, I'm sorry.  I will give more details soon, promise.  For now can I ask for a favour? Can you please include me in your prayers?  I really need all the support that I can get at this point.
Thank you in advance.

My "Let's Go To The Grocery, But Let's Drop By Somewhere First" Moment

I seriously can't remember the last time I posted a haul on my blog.  I still buy some stuff, though not as much as before, but I don't get too excited like I am right now with my recent purchase.

Me and the hubby were at the mall a few nights ago. We were on our way to the grocery when I decided to do a quick check at the Bobbi Brown counter. I've been itching to buy the Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Vanilla for ages, but it's always OOS. I don't usually check out makeup counters when I'm with hubby (I think we all know why, hahah!) but I just had the feeling that the long-awaited Vanilla is finally available.  And it is!  I jumped with joy as soon as the SA told me there is still ONE remaining stock. OMG, the last one. I gotta have it!  I was already at the cashier when I glanced upon a box that says Mini Must Haves so while waiting for my turn to be served, I picked it up and checked what's inside.

Mini Must Haves, AED 178
(Mini Essentials)

Needless to say, I bought it.  I mean how can I say No? It has all the nicest stuff!  What really sold me is the Cleansing Oil and the BB Cream, which I have been wanting to try. It comes with makeup pouch too.  I think this one's a good deal, really.

My Favorite Brand of Falsies For Everyday Use

I think a colleague of mine just realized that I am indeed wearing falsies (almost) everyday. She approached me one day and said, "You must have been spending a lot of money in buying a lot of false lashes since the cheapest (branded) we have available here is from Ardell which costs AED25.  And since you can only use it 3-4times max, I am wondering how many pairs you buy each time."

Hmm, I didn't know she's already over-analyzing my addiction to falsies. LOL!

Anyway, I told her that yes, I buy a lot of falsies but no, I don't spend a lot of moolah.  I'm just lucky that I was able to get my hands on a brand (wait, it actually doesn't have a brand name!) that is cheap and still of good quality.

Here it is:

I'm sure that some of you knows this brand (geesh, there is no brand name ang kulit mo lang). I actually got it as a gift from a good friend of mine in PH. She said it costs Php150 a box, which houses 10 pairs of natural-looking lashes.  I think she got it somewhere in Quiapo.

If it costs Php150, then a pair costs Php15 which is more or less AED1.25.
Not bad ha!

Magnifibres Brush-On False Lashes

It's no secret that I am so into false lashes these days. Heck, I even feel like my eye makeup is not complete without it.  So yes, I wear falsies almost everyday.  I am just lucky that people around me now are used to seeing women with long, luscious lashes, be it falsies or natural.  Unlike before, I get stares as if I am somebody out of this world. Haha!

But applying false lashes can be quite time-consuming.  So I still wish that I have naturally long and luscious lashes, who doesn't? I've tried a number of lash serums in the past but never really got to see results. Blame it on me though, as I was not that consistent in using them.

So when I got this Magnifibres Brush-On False Lashes during the Oblogger Party last month, I knew I finally have an alternative to wearing false eyelashes.

Magnifibers Brush-On False Lashes
(AED 150)

As per the product blurb, this brush-on natural fibres can create a stunning false lash effect in seconds and  can be used between coats of your favorite mascara.
