November 12 - 15 Star Atrium in Dubai Mall I got an invite to check it out on the first day and since I have a one-week off before I start with a new job, I happily braved the almost half an hour metro ride going to Dubai Mall. I learned that this is the first time for such event to be held here in the UAE.  So yes, I do consider myself lucky to be one of the firsts to experience it.  The setup: 'twas also my first time to attend such event (I think the first MAC Instant Artistry in Manila was held just this year too!) so I was quite surprised to see the setup: almost everything was in white, instead of the usual black which is the sort-of branding color of the brand. 

If you love collecting nail polishes then this collection from MAC will definitely make your heart skip a beat.  Well, mine did! (Though I don't really collect nail polishes...yet!) MAC teamed up with Marian Newman, a former forensic scientist, to come up with a collection of nail lacquers and topcoats designed to give your nails a stylist twist. Choose any base color then use any of the top coats and have fun in coming up with endless possibilities of colors and effects. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if there's a makeup item I can't live without, it would be brow makeup.  Without my made up brows, I look like an alien. Seriously! My brows have "evolved" through the years. A lot of people have been complimenting me for my made up brows but I didn't perfect them overnight.  It took me years of practice. But now, I can say that I can draw them even with my eyes closed!  Haha, kidding!  If you want to see how I draw my brows, here's a tutorial I did last year.  One thing I look for in brow makeup is its ability to stay put all day.  I remember the days when I just wanted to drop dead whenever I'd see half of my brows gone! Que horror!  I've tried a lot of products which claim to be waterproof but only a few can actually hold on to my oily brows. Yeah,  my brow area is oily as well! Are there products that you didn't like the first time you used it and then you've changed your mind after giving it another chance? I think I have a lot. You see, I must confess that some of the makeup products that I buy is usually out of curiosity, or I just want to join the hype like everybody else.  I knowww, that's bad.  But then again, most of these stuff find their way to my heart.  The second, or third time I use them, I just fall in love with it and so they make it to my HG list.  Now the hardest thing is, realizing that the product is either discontinued...or limited edition. Sucks, right? It's been a while since I last did a full face makeup.  For almost two months, I've been skipping the eye makeup except for the liner and mascara so I got a bit worried that my blending skills might have been rusty already.  So when I got really bored the other day, I decided to play with makeup and come up with something suitable for where I am now...
