Something New: Paris Hilton Dazzle

Okay, I have a confession to make.  I LOVE Paris Hilton! There was even a time when I can't stop listening to her song, "Nothing in this world" LOL.  I know most people don't like her, because to some, she's just a spoiled brat who's only all about being rich and living a fabulous life. Well, it's not her fault to born rich.  Err, filthy rich.  But there's more to her than just being a billionaire hotel heiress and a reality TV star. She's also a successful businesswoman!  Bah, she works her ass off too!  And it isn't her fault if she does it in style.

So when her 15th fragrance, Dazzle, came out..I am just too happy to have a bottle for myself. Thanks to our friends from Prestige Brands! :)

Dazzle is a fruity fragrance that "expresses Paris' whimsical side, revealing her inner beauty - dazzlingly and charming without the need for bling."

"Give me a chance to color my world and I colour it pink. A sparkling, sweet, pretty and playful pink, Dazzle, my newest fragrance, is about my world, me and all the different facets of my personality.”, said Paris adding: "I love beautiful jewels and of course, pink diamonds are a favorite, but feeling dazzling, special and on top of the world isn't about material things, for me, it comes from within.”

Developed by perfumer, Frank Voelkl, it opens with notes of pink lady apple, maraschino cherry and peach nectar with violet petals, pink calypso orchid and orange blossom in the heart and the base of vanilla, pink champagne, white patchouli and musk.

I love its sparkling, fresh and sweet scent, with a hint of being powdery. It actually reminds me of a candy store! Sweet, but not overly sweet. I love the vanilla in it too! It on me for a good 4-5hrs, so staying power is good. A spritz or two is enough, so this small bottle that I have would last me for months. If you want something light and fruity-floral that leaves a beautiful, romantic impression then I would recommend checking this out.

And the bottle is just wow! Created with Henry de Monclin, the bottle is a true reflection of the precious ultra feminine fragrance. The bottle is round and faceted like a pink diamond. I love how the letter "P" with a crown on top has been engraved on the silver cap, and with a glittering ring of pink jewels below. Truly elegant and very royal-like.

And guess what, you get this cute watch with every qualifying purchase. What a great gift idea for your special someone, your girl friend of even for yourself for this coming Christmas season.

Are these babies cute or what!?
^_^

Paris Hilton Dazzle is exclusively distributed by Prestige Brands Philippines and are available in the following sizes:

Php1950 / 30ml, Php2600 / 50ml and Php3350 / 125ml

Product Review: Benefit Erase Paste

Hello, y'all!  How's your weekend?  Mine was busy, as Mr. X's now home for a one-month vacation.  Today's my last day at work, well at least for this month because I'll be on a vacation too!

I won't be attending events for the coming week, and probably won't be posting as much but I will try.  I won't be bringing "Tangy" with me so let's see.

For today, let me share with you my HG undereye concealer as of the moment.  I've been using Revlon's Age Defying undereye concealer for a long time (and loving it) until I realized I ran out of it one day and I didn't have any backup!  Good thing I have this lifesaver in Benefit's Confession of a Concealaholic kit. And since then, it has been a staple in my makeup kit.

Benefit Erase Paste

Brightening Camouflage for the eyes and face.

Available in 3 shades: Fair, Medium and Deep

I am not sure how much is in this pot, but I've been using this since early this year..almost everyday and  I still have this much!

It has this perfect salmon shade that doesn't only cover, but brighten as well.  It's a bit thick so all you need is a little amount to cover your undereye area.

swatch blended in

Let's see how it fares on my undereyes:

I really have dark, almost reddish undereye area as you can see.  I only get to sleep 4hrs max on a weekday and I have this nasty habit of rubbing my eyes like crazy.  Wearing eye makeup helps keep my hands from rubbing, so now you know one reason why I love wearing makeup. (laughs)

I apply Erase Paste with a brush applying more on the area near the tear ducts, where it's darker.

Then I blend it with my ring finger.  The consistency of the concealer's a bit thick so the natural warmth of my skin helps blend it a lot easier.   I also dab what's left on my finger on the sides and  on the lids.

Before - After

Like with any liquid, or cream, you need to set it with a powder so it would stay put.  I love using my MAC MSF Natural in Light or my Nyx Flat But Not Matte powder.    I also use this on the blemishes on my face, also as a corrector and then top it off with my another HG concealer, the Benefit Boi-ing

PROs:
Creamy formula that's easy to apply and blend
Perfect salmon shade to cover and correct dark undereye circles and even blemishes
Stays put, as long as you set it.
Doesn't crease, or settle into fine lines
No allergic reactions
A little goes a long way
Brightens up the undereye area

CONs:
It doesn't have any special ingredients to combat puffiness or fine lines, like that of Revlon's but it really does an amazing job in covering my dark "secrets" LOL.

Priced at Php1400 for a small pot, you might think this is pretty expensive.  I'd say it is, but WTH, this stuff works...and once you get the hang of using it with just the right amount, the small pot will last you a long time.  I really, really love this product.  I still have more than 1/4 left in the pot, but I am getting a back up real soon.

How about you?  Have you tried this, or are you currently using it?  Let me know your thoughts!

Happy Monday, everyone!

NOTD: Brushed...

Here's another attempt on nail art:

Okay, this may not look like "art" (laughs). It didn't actually come up like what I have in mind, but I just got too lazy to start over again...so pinanindigan ko na! LOL.

Turned out, some people liked it.  And well, I like it too.
Love your own, yes!?
^_^

How I did it:

1.  I applied base coat (Revlon)
2. Two coats of rosy beige polish (NYX) as base
3. Dip the ends of a fan brush on a purple shade, and then sweep on the nail starting from the right side going to the left (or from Left to Right) then vice-versa.
4.  Let it dry for a minute then do the same with a pink and then a white shade of polish
5. Finish with a top coat

Last weekend, I was so happy because my nails got featured in Manila Bulletin! The feature was made by Jane Kingsu-Cheng, and it was about nail art.  I was featured together with Nikki who happened to be my inspiration in trying out nail art.  I may not be as good as her or the others, but I am just so happy that people appreciate my work.  I promise to practice more, as practice really makes everything perfect.
^_^

Thanks again, Jane!  I got so kilig after seeing my nails on paper!

LOTD: Open wings....

No, this isn't about flying. (laughs)  I just want to show you this eyeliner style that I've been wearing for the past few days.  I think this is called an open-winged eyeliner. Not sure though, so don't take my word for it!

^_^

So anyways, by now I am pretty sure you are already used to my winged liner looks.  Honestly, I can say that it suits me.  I've tried doing the simple, natural way by lining close to the lash lines and without any wing.  But no, it doesn't suit me.  I have big cheeks and if I do the natural way, it just makes me look plump-ier. Doing the winged liner lifts my eyes, making it look wider giving the illusion of narrower face.  Looking back, I realized that I've been doing the winged look ever since I started lining my eyes.  But of course, it was less dramatic by only extending the line and not really doing the winged, lift look.

This open winged look makes my eyes look a lot bigger because I am not "closing" my eyes by lining the lower lash lines and making it meet with the upper lash lines.  I usually see this kind of eyeliner styles on dolls, so do I look doll-like to you now? (laughs)

I decided to use an eyeshadow instead of my K-palette liquid liner so it won't look too harsh.  But I just might, on other occasions.  tee-hee.

So what do you think?  Yay or Nay?

Shoe Sale!

Hiyee!  It's midweek and I am getting excited for my upcoming two weeks vacation starting next week.    So most probably I'd be MIA and won't be able to post, but I'll try to schedule some posts while I still can.

^_^

By the way, I've cleaned up my shoe closet and here's a bunch that I am no longer using.  Most, I've only used once, twice max while some are still brand new.  Let me know if you are interested, shoot me an email if you are.

Charm Travel Pro Sonia and J&C Super Clean Solutions Launch...

Last month, I got an invite to attend a very special launch at Manila Peninsula in Makati.  Traffic was  very bad, but I made sure I wouldn't miss it.

Here's why...

After 5 successful, not to mention fabulous years in the market, CHARM launched its most sosyal and prettiest makeup brush set to date...the Charm Travel Pro Sonia.  Don't get me wrong, I love her pink brushes, but ever since I hit the double 3 this year, I am trying to start to look (and act, ows!?) my age. Pink has always been associated with kikay, younger women...and geesh, in as much as I wanted to stay young, I simply can't! So when she came up with the hot pink handles for her first travel pro set last year, I asked her if she can come up with black and gold.  I've always thought of that combo as mature, and well, fab.   And so imagine how happy I am when she finally told us she's coming up with the black/gold set.  And our darling Sophie didn't stop there, she even decided to house her new babies in an animal-print brush purse!

RAWR!

fellow bloggers and friends Ohh-ing and Ahh-ing during Sophie's presentation of her newest brush set
^_^

But wait, there's more!  (laughs)  I know most of you have been on the lookout for a great makeup brush cleanser for a long time now.  Well, there's a number available in the market, but most of them didn't really meet all of my expectations.  There's this one from a famous brand that I so love, it really gets the dirt out of my brushes while caring for the brush hairs but the price is a bit steep.  There's this another one which gets the job done, but the smell doesn't go away...it's too strong that even my air freshener's no match to it.

But worry not, here's a new makeup brush cleaner in town...the J&C Super Clean Solutions. Business partners, Jenny Yrasuegi and Celine Gabriel-Lim, both know that high-quality brushes are expensive investments to women.  Whether a makeup artist, or just a makeup enthusiast,  you want your brushes to stay in its prime condition.  While some brush cleaners can do the job, sometimes it takes the brushes a while to dry. This becomes a problem when you are in a makeup gig and you have a number of clients to put makeup on, or you simply don't have a backup of a brush you like to use everyday.

J and C Super Clean Solutions Makeup Brush Cleaner

After working with a team of specialized chemists, Jenny and Celine finally came up with the perfect brush cleaner.  Their Super Solutions brush cleaner gets the job done faster, at not even half the price of some imported brush cleaner..and it's also fortified with spearmint oil, to keep it smelling fresh and clean and in tip-top shape! I love the smell so much that I am keeping myself from using it as a gargle.  (laughs)  Seriously, i love the minty scent.  It's not too overpowering, it does stay on but it's not annoying like the one I used before.

Mind you, it can clean brushes that have been used with cream foundations or concealers.  You know how hard to take those nasty formulations off our dear brushes!

There's two ways you can use this cleaner:

1. Spray it on the brush and gently swipe the brush on a clean tissue.  Repeat until all the dirt gets off.  What I do is I spray it ON the tissue then I wipe the brush on it.  Okay, OC na.  But I did try spraying it directly on my brushes and the hairs didn't go wonky after drying!

2. Pour a small amount of the solution in a cup, soak then swirl the brush in the solution.  Make sure that only the brush hairs are soaked.  You wouldn't want our dear brush to come off its ferrule!

The price?  It's Php395 for a 125/ml bottle.  It's affordable, it works and travel-friendly too!

Celine, Sophie and Jenny

Beautiful, Brainy, Awesome, Fabulous and very good entrepreneurs...hay, you girls already!
^_^

and of course, we wouldn't miss the mandatory group shot..LOL!

Thanks Sophie, Jenny and Celine for that wonderful night of chismisan (laughs), good food and good company.  I really enjoyed making chikahan with all of you.

Visit the FB pages of Charm and J & C Super Solutions to know more about their products or to purchase.

Me thinks this is one of the coolest beauty collaboration to date!

NOTD: Wet n Wild Megalast Nail Polish in Wet Cement...

Wet n Wild Megalast Salon Nail Color
Sophisticated, classic colors beautifully accent any look. Long-lasting, opaque color provides 5 days of chip-resistant wear.  A revolutionary resin polymer system creates exceptional color adhesion to nails.  This resilient polish is calcium and mineral fortified to rebalance and prevent nail discoloration.  Comes with a unique full-coverage brush that glides on smooth for one-stroke application.  Tolune, phthalate and formaldehyde-free.

I've noticed that a lot of drugstore brands are coming up with great nail polishes.  They offer awesome color selection that are long-wearing, ala-gel polish.

WnW Megalast polish in Wet Cement

Wet Cement is a lovely taupe, that would look good on anyone.  Morena or Tisay.  I applied 4 coats because I like it really dark, and it didn't bubble up.

Consistency is creamy, applies on smoothly and evenly.  And the pigmentation, AWESOME!  Two coats and it comes off really opaque.  You can also skip the top coat and it will remain glossy for days.  I wore it for almost 7 days and it didn't chip as much as the other polishes would do.

The brush that comes with it is flat, and wide but rounded at the end.  I had a problem because some of the brush hairs are cut unevenly, so it made the application a bit tricky.     But once you get the hang of it, I am pretty sure you'd love it to bits.

The greatest part?  It's only Php199!

I think I'm gonna get more...they have 18 gorgeous colors to choose from.  I am eyeing Through the Grapevine, Red a Good Book and Need a Refresh-mint.

Believe me, these babies are worth checking out.
