Product Review: The Body Shop Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo..

Image
I am not a fan of my flat, limp hair but one thing I like about it is that it doesn't suffer from probably one of the most common hair problems...dandruff. Maybe it's because like my face, my scalp is oily and dandruff usually affects those with drier scalp.   Unfortunately, my husband suffers from it and for years he has been switching from one brand of dandruff shampoo to another. He has tried a lot, even the expensive ones like Kerastase which to our dismay, even made his dandruff worse.  He eventually settled for Head & Shoulders (Classic Clean variant) and though his dandruff problem still remains, it is by far what he likes the most among all those he has tried.   I actually feel guilty for not being able to help my husband with his scalp problem. I am a (beauty) blogger and migawd, I scour the net for stuff to try and review but didn't even really bother looking for products that will totally make his dandruff go away.  So one day when h...

A Hairstyling Product I Don't Think I Can Live Without…

Image
Do you have fine, limp hair like I do?   If you do, what hair styling products do you use to give it some volume? I've tried wax, gels, mousse and hair sprays but most of them just makes my hair looking greasy at the end of the day. Also if I used too much (which happens a lot), I just end up getting the opposite of what I'm trying to attain. And some can be such a pain to wash off your hair.  So yes, I came to a point that I had enough of these hair styling products.  But with my hair this short, I don't think I can just give up that easily. When I had my last haircut last July, the hairstylist recommended a product which according to her is so good, she has no doubt  that I'd like it. I was skeptic at first, thinking that she's just trying to sell me some products, but she said she'll try it on me after the haircut so I can see it for myself.  And so after trimming my hair and giving life back to it after a not-so-good styling from anothe...

From my long curly hair, to my fab short 'do….

Image
When it comes to my hair, I've always been (sort of) adventurous. I've gone from my natural hair color of medium brown to semi-blonde (I've also tried to be a red head once!), from straight to curly and for so many times already, from long to a short 'do.   And when I make (drastic) changes to my hair, it's not because I got brokenhearted (like some women do) but just because I got tired of my looks and I want to look new.  I don't even get hinayang to my hair, as for me, it's just hair…and it will grow back.  Last year, I went from having straight hair to curly.   I've always wanted to experience having a long, curly hair as I've always had straight hair.  I had my hair permed twice and was happy  that I've finally crossed out an item from my bucket list.  But after a few months of living here in UAE where water can be oh-so-drying, I again decided to move on and give my hair a restart. I also need a new hair color as the regrowth is a...

The Body Shop Spring 2014 Collection + More...

Image
Hi, my loves!  And so I went POOF on a few days again.  But no, it's not because I'm back to studying for another certification exam but because of I've been..well, watching too much TV.   (laughs)  I've recently got copies of The Vampire Diaries and have been watching it like crazy for days.  'twas like I've been glued to my seat and nothing else matters!  LOL.  But the good thing about it is, I haven't been eating much. I guess seeing Damon (the hot Ian Somerhalder) is more than enough to keep me full.  Hahah! Anyways, for today I want to share with you some of the awesome goodies I got as gifts from our friends from The Body Shop UAE (thanks!).  As you all know, their Spring 2014 collection is now out and so that's the first I'd be showing you…plus, some more!  (Thanks to The Body Shop UAE for these gifts!)

Product Review: L'oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil...

If you've had the same hair style for practically most of your life, I'm sure you'd grow tired of it eventually.  I had straight hair for more than 33 years and when I say straight, I mean really straight, that people would sometimes ask me if I had it rebonded.  My hair wasn't perfect though, it's fine (baby-fine)  and really prone to dryness most especially on the ends.  Early this year, I took a leap of faith and finally decided to have my hair permed .  Do I regret it?  Not really, because I quite enjoy having a look different from what I had for years.  But I just wish I don't have to deal with frizziness all the time.   And to add to that, I also suffer from hairfall,  in which  Kerastase Initialiste  was able to help me for a time until I finally emptied the bottle.  Yaiks!  I am trying out another product and so far, my hairfall has been lessened.  I'll continue to use it and will come back with a review soo...

Product Review: Prostyle Fuwarie Curly and Bouncy...

Image
I've been with a straight, nah..make that super straight, hair for almost all my life.  Almost, because I remember my Aunt curled my hair for my Aunt's practical exam when she was in a cosmetology school.  I think I was in Grade 5 back then.  No, I was not kikay at that time...I just had no choice but to let my Aunt use me as her model, in exchange of an ice cream treat.  (laughs)   Okay, now you know how you can bribe me.  ^_^ Whenever I wanted curls, I just blow (or air) dry my hair, apply mousse then curl it.  I wasn't too fond of using too much hair products because they just weigh my hair down. I also can't remember using heat-protectant stuff either(  okay you can shoot me now) .  Well, they make my hair look and feel sticky.  And they don't help in making my curls last longer.  But I wanted curls...so I had my hair permed. LoL. For those who have the same sentiments about such hair products, here's something that c...

From straight, to curly...

Image
For months, no..make that years, I've been contemplating of getting my hair curled.  I have had straight hair almost all my life. Almost because I remember my dear Aunt giving me some curls as one  of their activities in a cosmetology school eons ago.  That was the first and also thought to be the last time I'll see myself having curly hair.  Yes, I want to have my hair curled..but was just too chicken to have it done.   Thanks to a few people who urged (and cheered) me to finally get it done.  Besides, this is the year when I told myself I'd be ticking off items in my bucket list.  And yes, going curly is one of them. I've read a lot of reviews on salons that are said to be good in doing digiperms.  But the reviews, which are mostly good, about this salon won me over... And so, me-myself and I made a trip to probably one, if not the best salon who does digital perming: ^_^ The staff are so courteous, and I love that they di...

Kerastase Chroma Captive launch...

Image
Last month, I got an invite to witness the unveiling of Chroma Captive , a new hair care system from Kerastase that aims to protect hair color intensity for up to 40 days with regular use. Ms. Glowie Ramiro-Robillo , Business Unit Manager of Kerastase Philippines and Laura Charlton , Kerastase Media Advocate, welcomed everybody and shared to everyone how excited they are with the brand's newest line of haircare products.   Laura told us that her clients in their salons are happy that they no longer have to go back that often to have their hair color retouched. Aside from preserving the color, it also gives shine and vitality that are usually lost when hair is being colored often. I am sure that most of you have tried having your hair colored.  I myself have been coloring my hair since college and I often complain that my hair color doesn't last long enough.  Frequent washing, brushing and color oxidation are just  a few reasons why ou...
