My "Let's Go To The Grocery, But Let's Drop By Somewhere First" Moment

Image
I seriously can't remember the last time I posted a haul on my blog.  I still buy some stuff, though not as much as before, but I don't get too excited like I am right now with my recent purchase.    Me and the hubby were at the mall a few nights ago. We were on our way to the grocery when I decided to do a quick check at the Bobbi Brown counter. I've been itching to buy the Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Vanilla for ages, but it's always OOS. I don't usually check out makeup counters when I'm with hubby (I think we all know why, hahah!) but I just had the feeling that the long-awaited Vanilla is finally available.  And it is!  I jumped with joy as soon as the SA told me there is still ONE remaining stock. OMG, the last one. I gotta have it!  I was already at the cashier when I glanced upon a box that says Mini Must Haves so while waiting for my turn to be served, I picked it up and checked what's inside.        Mini...

Oh, I've missed you Forever 21!

Image
When was the last time I dropped by Forever 21?  Geesh, I can't remember na.  I've been trying to stay away from malls lately, as I am trying to save up for some other things.  But last week, I just knew I missed Forever 21 too much that I can no longer resist the urge to check what they have. And as usual, I wasn't able to go beyond the accessories area: this pair kinda reminded me of my nails last week I just love big earrings! Guess what?  I got these pairs for less than Php100 each! Thank God for SALE. ^_^ This one I also got for sale, Php309. I love Forever 21's accessories.  Do you? Hopefully I can check out their clothes section next time. ^_^ Please like me on Facebook ( IambrigittePage ) and follow me on Twitter ( Iamsutil ) and Instagram (Iambrigitte)

from being stressed to being broke...

After weeks of (almost nonstop) working, I've finally had time to go to the mall. And well, it's always not a good idea to be at the mall after all the stressful deadlines and all those occasional bickering with colleagues. LOL! I was just thinking of checking out some stores and whoa, i only got to visit one and decided not to go around anymore and just go home right away. Why? It's because of these: I can't believe I was able to get 3 pairs from one store in less than 30 minutes! Thanks to someone who didn't even bother stopping me from getting all 3...instead, even offered to get the last pair as a gift. I was actually having 2nd thoughts about the last pair, thinking i might not have anything to match it with. Geesh, I am thinking I might look funny if I wear it with shorts or a mini skirt...you know, I'm not that young anymore! But I decided to get it, it's a gift anyway! ^_^ It's been a long time since I bought from Charles & Keith. I re...

shopping for essentials...

Image
Lately, I've been trying to stay away from the mall to keep myself from shopping. I admit, I've been shopping like crazy over the past few months and though it's good for the economy, it's absolutely no good for me and my wallet! But of course, we can't totally avoid shopping..most especially when it's time to shop for essentials: facial tissues, pantyliners, body wash, conditioners, deodorant, moisturizing/whitening cream, body puff, some falsies for makeup gigs, a pair of tweezers and nail file A pair of tweezers? well, i lost my trusty pair weeks ago and I've searched in the jungle (AKA my room) and still didn't find it. And yeah, I use it to pluck those nasty gray hairs too! Ewww. And yes, a nail file...because, ahmmm... hey, I don't owe anybody an explanation when it comes to my shopping! Do I? ^_^ How about you, what do you consider your essentials?

thrift shopping...

i was cleaning my closet last week when I realized that I barely have "pambahays" (house clothes). i usually sleep with PJs but because of the heat, i prefer shorts and sandos. i need to go shopping but i dont have much spare money so where do i go? to tiangges (bazaars) of course! to my readers here in the Phils and particularly in Manila, you might have heard of St. Francis Square already. it's at the front of Megamall and lucky me, i don't need to drag my fat ass all the way to Greenhills since St. Francis is just a few meters away from where i work. there, you'll find a lot of good buys if you'll just be patient in checking out stalls. some clothes are not of good quality, but if you're lucky, you'll find some really nice dresses/blouses just like the ones you'd find in the malls. so here's what i got: boxer shorts, sleeveless shirts and cardigans i also got these pretty accessories: and these: an officemate find this pair cute and kind...

another sunday loot...

Image
i confess that my most effective stress buster is to go shopping...but i also resort to it when i'm uberly happy or just wanted to reward myself for something great that i've accomplished. (hmm...i am actually thinking which of the two actually made me go gaga yesterday) well, do we really need a reason to go shopping? :D i am so happy with my loot yesterday that i almost forgot that i just recovered from flu and that my number 1 NY resolution is to SAVE! (oh well...i am not really good in keeping my NY resolutions, anyway. tee-hee) my TFS loot: makeup brush holder, acetone, Quick and Clean Blemish Balm, Dual Tip Shadow Sponges, Fake eyelashes, Baked Shimmer All-Over Illuminator in Pink Nuance and Color Shimmer Lipstick in BR802 a closer look of my TFS makeup goodies: now the makeup brush holder: neat, huh!? now, my TBS loot: white musk body spray, white musk blush body spray, lightening touch concealer in 03, pink glow enhancer in pink, blushing daisies, shimmer buds e/s in...

stressed, frustrated and angry...

Image
well, yeah...i've been like that for the past few days. Maybe i'm just too tired with my work, and i worry too much about a lot of things lately. you know...the twenty-something syndrome? arrrghh... so what else am i to do? go shopping, of course! here's my loot for today (take note that i waited 3 hours after my shift for the malls to open...hehhee): yey...my first ever MAC e/s in Ricepaper and the Curiositease set of 5 cool pigments and glitter. seeing the eyeshadows in the counter really made me drool and buy them all! but of course, i can't...i can only admire them from afar. wahahaha (drama) pigment swatches (L-R) : Reflects blue (glitter), Forest Green, Naval Blue, Softwash Gray and Helium and since i got hold of pigments and i'm thinking of foiling them, i asked if they have the mixing medium. Apparently, it's only available in MAC Pro stores (sorry for the ignorance, ladies...'twas my first time to get myself eye-makeup from MAC). So i need ...

i chose my family over my papa piolo...

Image
as if! LOL well, its just that a few days ago i was blabbing about winning VIP tickets for the Clear Black Parade and the chance to see my papa again in person after what...hmm 5 or 6 years? yeah, i got to see him years ago at NAIA with Diether Ocampo but i just dunno why i can't even bring myself to approach him and have our picture taken when my mom had her arms all around him and Diether, all smiles and me taking their pictures. Mom took the cam from me after and pushed me to approach Piolo and have our picture, but guess what...i said no. DUMB, STUPID me! waaahhhh...i must admit, i can be crazy and kikay and makulit like hell at times but i can still be shy. Arrghhh... oh well...so when i got an email from sophie that i won VIP passes, i told myself that this time...i gotta have to have my picture taken with my papa piolo. but a day before the event, mom texted me that they will be going to Tagaytay the next day to have lunch at Sonya's Garden and they will be bringing Yvet...

and just when i said i'll be on a "no-shopping" mode...

Image
...an officemate of mine sent me a message if i'm interested to get some Victoria Secrets items. So i asked, "do you have the body sprays?" and she replied, "nope, but you can check out some of their body scrubs." OKAY. for the past two weeks i've been ordering like mad from mineral makeup companies online. if i get an info that this or that mmu company has an ongoing sale, i'll be like "what's their website again?" and will be adding items (mostly e/s) to my shopping cart like crazy. and the next thing i know, i'm getting that darn plastic card out of my wallet. pathetic, yeah...but what the heck, this is my way of de-stressing. other women out there splurge on clothes, bags, shoes and other branded items...while i go gaga over skincare and makeup. but i realized that i've been spending too much lately so i told myself..."this really have to stop, no more going to malls or checking out makeups online for you, jhengky!" an...

how to spend valentines day without a date?

Image
what could be worse than working on a graveyard shift and you have no eff-ing date!? oh well...i can't remember a single valentines day in my life when i got to celebrate it like everybody else does. you know, candlelight dinners, a romantic walk in the park holding hands with somebody, stargazing, or a surprise dinner prepared by your partner...the works! sad to say, it's just like an ordinary day for me....but unlike any other ordinary days, this is one day when you get stares from people when they see you dining out or watching a movie or just being alone. it's like you have this disease or something that makes you different from the others and it's as if they would want to give you a pat on the back and say "you poor thing..." hehehe..don't take me wrong. i am not being bitter...i actually got used to it already. so today, after my shift (waited for a few more hours, actually) i went to Smart Wireless Center with Odette to pay for my internet subscript...
