Holiday Makeup Looks: Smokey Golds...

Image
And I'm back for another Holiday Makeup Look!  I know this isn't the first time you'd see a smokey gold makeup look from me but hey, I've used gold glitters this time…it does make it different, right!? Right!? Please say right. I beg you. ^_^ Anyway, here's the look: I was supposed to do a video tutorial for this one but if I did, this post won't make it this year…maybe after a couple of months!  Geesh, I have a number of videos I've been meaning to edit but procrastination always gets the best of me.  So I hope a photo tutorial would do for now...

Holiday Makeup Looks: Green and Gold...

Image
A few days to go and it's Christmas! It's my first time to celebrate Christmas away from my family, so I'm not really in a very festive mood.  But it'll be my first time to celebrate Christmas with the hubby after so many years so that would make up for it.  Hopefully next year, we'll be home for the holidays.  Iba talaga ang Pasko sa Pinas (Christmas is really different in the Philippines), and I'm sure kabayans will totally agree with me on that! I'm also sure that by now, you're (almost) done with your gift shopping so I won't be posting about gift ideas anymore.  Instead, I'll be giving you ideas on what makeup to wear for the parties you'd be attending this holiday season.  And for today, let's make those brown eyes pop more with this Green and Gold combo...

My kind of festive makeup look...

Image
Hiyee, my loves!  It's Thursday, one more day to go and it's the weekend! I don't think my weekend's gonna be a real weekend though, as I'm pretty sure I'd still be working.  But nah, I'm not gonna complain!   I am not gonna complain...I am not gonna, complain... (ahh-hmmm..ahh-hmmm) ^_^ For today, let me just share with you a look I wore a few days before Christmas.  I know I should've worn festive colors instead, but hey, I still used Gold!  So it's still being festive, right!? LOTD: Gold + tips on faking an "Awake" look

Image
I am sure this isn't the first time I posted a look like this one.  This is my go-to look on days I want an "awake" look despite the (almost) sleepless night before.  I try to focus more on the lips and/or cheeks but I still want to give my eyes a certain "pop." LOTD: Golds

Image
For years that I've been putting on makeup, I found that wearing golds on the lids is a great way to bring attention to our peepers without being too dramatic. It brightens the eyes, giving that awake look and depending on the intensity, this shade looks good at daytime  and even at night time. For this look, I downplayed the Gold by topping it a bit of peach and instead of using black to define my crease, I used browns and a bit of copper.  I planned for a light, shimmery eyes, and to make sure that I won't look so plain, I opted for a metallic-violet liner to make my eyes pop more. EOTD/FOTD: Looks Like Gold...

Image
"Looks Like Gold" because I didn't really use a gold shade of eyeshadow.  I played with my Inglot eyeshadows in shades of (shimmery) orange and yellow, and apparently, you'll come up with gold if you layer them one after the other (orange first, then yellow). Or am I the last one to figure that out!? ^_^  TFS Lovely Me-Ex Auto Eyebrow in 04 MAC brow set in Girl Boy Benefit Stay Don't Stray Inglot eyeshadows in Orange, Yellow and Brown Inglot gel eyeliner in 06 Prestige white eyeliner Maybelline Cat Eyes mascara TonyMoly Intense Repair Live Snail BB cream Revlon Age Defying concealer Clinique Derma White Bright-C powder  Estee Lauder blush in Tender Petal MAC Shape and Sculpt MakeUp Forever Rouge Artist Intense l/s #33 Forgive the eye bags, I haven't had much sleep since last week (what's new!?) and been feeling lousy these past few days.  I've been going to the gym again, not just to lose weig...

revisiting my UD Book of Shadows vol. 1...

Image
i've been harassing Sol's UD BOS vol. 2 for weeks now, that i missed my own BOS vol.1 so i decided to give it some lovin'. UD eyeshadows are such a breeze to blend. Colors are highly pigmented and doesn't crease...i want more of their eyeshadows! with that in mind...it makes me think "geesh, when will i ever get my hands on Alice in Wonderland BOS?" Twice Baked!

Image
nope, this isn't a food post...but a look i came up with using UD Book of Shadows vol. 2 which was given to me by Sol. LOL! alright, i'm kiddin' she's just too nice to let me borrow this since i wasn't able to get myself one. ARGH! surprisingly, i was able to come up with a boring neutral look for my first attempt in using it: PAC browkit UDPP UD e/s in YDK and Twice Baked, a bit of Perversion Maybelline Cat Eyes mascara MAC liner in Smoldering MAC fluidline in Blacktrack Smashbox Photofinish primer MAC SS concealer in NW20 MAC Select Cover in NW20 Revlon Colorstay in Buff MAC SF Powder in NC20 Maybelline blush in Watermelon Monave foundation concealer in Caroline Shu Uemura Matte Loose powder NYX l/s in Fig see those blemishes? they are so horrible that i intentionally loaded up on concealer, it did blend on my skin after anyways. i really am beginning to be into neutrals these days...it's a no-brainer look to come up with when you're in a hurry!

previous looks using minerals

Image
oh my, oh my...just when i'm always running late for work, i am again getting hooked on playing with my mmu e/s which i've abandoned for quite some time! here's me using my pressed MAD minerals: and here's using Aromaleigh minerals: i know mmu e/s takes more time to work with. i always apply mine wet, using a few spritz of MAC Fix+ and then topping it off with dry pigment so i can blend it with other colors. but i love, love the fusion of colors that i get from them. sometimes, i can get away with just one shade...but people would ask me if i used 2-3x shades for my eye makeup. so i guess, it's all worth it. but of course, don't be like me...make sure you get to work on time. hahaha! geesh, my face is still messed up. when will this ever end?
