Nivea Double Effect Eye Make-Up Remover

Image
I know, I know...you'd probably be asking, "just how many makeup remover does this silly girl need?" I honestly lost count already as to how many makeup removers I've reviewed on this blog. While some are good, there's also a number of removers that didn't make the cut. And well, some made it to my favourites list. Maybe I'd do a post on my most favorite makeup removers of all time.  Hmm, what do you think? For now, allow me to share with you my favourite eye makeup remover as of the moment.  Months ago, I was over the moon with the Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover .  But a makeup and skincare junkie like me just doesn't stop after finding a favourite, we continue to search for a new product to like (and love). Oh, I'm sure you can relate.  If not, then what the hell are you doing here reading my blog in the first place? ^_^ Nivea Double Effect Eye Make-Up Remover (less than AED 30) Enriched with Cornflower extract,...

Nivea 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water (All Skin Types)

Image
If you haven't heard of Micellar Cleansing Water, you might be living under a rock.  When it comes to removing makeup, it's the "IN" thing nowadays. It promises to suck those nasty grime, makeup and impurities out of your skin for a deeper cleanse. It's soap-free, so no dry, stretchy-feeling on the skin afterwards. I've already tried two micellar cleansing waters, Bioderma and Happy Skin Make a Clean Sweep , and between the two I can say that I like the latter more.  Both of them can totally remove my makeup, even waterproof ones, but that of Happy Skin's has special skincare ingredients. So you get a cleanser and a skincare in one! I've been alternating the Happy Skin cleanser and Bioderma Sensibio (which I will be reviewing soon) but our dear friends from Glambox ME gave me another option by sending me another miceller water cleanser to try out, the Nivea 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water. Nivea 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water (For Al...

For today, I have another review for you, but first let me tell you how my weekend was. Usually it's all about house chores,  sometimes a movie/dinner date with the hubby and well, a whole lot of cooking.  Speaking of cooking, I haven't cooked in two weeks!  I miss my cooking.  I'm not saying I am a good cook but so far, those who have tried it says I'm good. So I guess, I am good? Hahaha!  Anyways, going back to my weekend: I got drunk! Homayghad , I can't remember the last time I got so drunk. Hubby and I went to the building next to ours to celebrate a friend's birthday over lunch.  It was just for lunch and hubby and I both thought it'll just be quick. But boy oh boy, we were so wrong.  After lunch, the girls were able to talk me into drinking and come late afternoon, I was already intoxicated.  We had cans of beer and a bottle of Tequila! It got me all so happy and I think I was laughing my head off the whole time. The hubby let me drink to ...

Product Review: Happy Skin Make a Clean Sweep...

When it comes to removing my makeup, the  Ponds Cold Cream is still my all-time favourite.  Make me choose between that and say, the Dermalogica Pre-cleanse (which I like too and is currently my favourite cleansing oil), I'll still choose Ponds. It's old school, I know.  But it does the job of taking off my makeup even the waterproof ones, and it feels like I'm giving myself a mini-facial whenever I use it.   When I don't have much time to double-cleanse, or if I am on the go and I don't have water for rinsing, I use makeup wipes. I've tried a lot and I have a few favourites ( Purederm , Neutrogena and Johnsons ).  I've also tried Bioderma in the past and I love how it looks and feel like water, and yet, does an amazing job in taking all my makeup off…yes, even the waterproof stuff.  And the most amazing part is, there's no need to rinse with water!   There's also Bifesta, but I never got to try that so ...

Johnson's Face Care Facial Cleansing Wipes Review...

Image
Too tired of going thru your usual facial cleaning before snooze time after a day of wearing makeup?  Use facial cleansing wipes!  Make sure to have some on your bedside table so you can just pull a sheet and start removing all that makeup off your face.  Of course, make sure that what you're using is really good...something that can not only cleanse, but also take care of your skin. In the past, I've only tried makeup remover wipes from Revlon , Purederm , Neutrogena and Celeteque . From the four, my favorite has got to be Purederm, as it also has anti-acne properties because of the Salicylic Acid.  Too bad I wasn't able to bring some because it was out-of-stock! It always is!  I didn't worry too much though, as I'm sure I'll get to find another good brand of facial wipes here in Dubai.  I have seen lots, but I chose the one brand that I'm sure is gentle enough even on babies' skin...Johnsons! Product Review: Face of Australia Gentle Makeup Remover

Image
One of the many things I make sure I don't run out of is a makeup remover.  With all the gunk I put on my face, mostly waterproof, it would definitely be a nightmare if I go home and find out I don't have anything to take it off with. We all know that soap and water no longer do the trick, most especially if you're a sucker for waterproof mascaras, eyeliners and long-wearing foundations.  I've tried a number of makeup removers already, and have found my favorites, but the makeup junkie in me will never stop from looking for alternatives.   For today, I'll be telling you about my current favorite makeup remover: Face of Australia Gentle Make-Up Remover A dual phase formula containing no Oil or Parabens.  This super gentle fluid is activated when liquid is shaken combining the two phases for the ultimate makeup removal. With a tear-compatible PH, this fragrance-free formula melts away all types of makeup including stay put and waterproof and will not stin...

Product Review: Etude House Lip and Eye Remover

Image
Don't worry, folks...you won't end up losing either your lips or your eyes when you use this!  They just forgot the "makeup" part...maybe. ^_^ Anyways, so I went home to the province for the holidays and I left my Bioderma there.  I know I still have tons of makeup removers here in Manila (Shu, Revlon, Dove..) but I usually prefer using an eye makeup remover, then my trusted Ponds cold cream and then tissue off everything.  You know I still believe in " pasma " (how do you say that in Tagalog?) so I'd like to rest my face for a while before finally washing with water. But when I'm in a hurry or if I sort of know that I'd be dozing off to sleep right away, I'd use my oil cleansers.  Knowing that I left my trusted Bioderma, I knew I had to buy a temporary alternative.  I went around SM Department Store, saw an Etude counter and accidentally saw this while checking out their brow mascara.  They have a lot of makeup removers, some a...

Product Review: Shiseido The Skincare Instant Lip and Eye Makeup Remover

Image
Shiseido The Skincare Instant Eye and Lip Makeup Remover A gentle dual-phase makeup remover that immediately dissolves waterproof and long-wearing eye makeup and lipstick.  Formulated with Xylitol to retain essential moisture in the delicate eye and lip areas. I've been using this for quite sometime, thanks to those little samples from Mom. ^_^ my eye makeup with everything waterproof! This makeup remover is a dual-phased product and it means the oily mixture sits on top of the watery mixture. Make sure to shake the bottle first before pouring a few drops onto a cotton pad. Hold the lightly dampened cotton pad on a closed eyelid for a minute and gently swipe it outwards and, tadaah: of course you can't remove anything with one swipe, so continue wiping out the remaining makeup with gentle strokes buh-bye eye makeup! What I Love: N o irritation, no blurring of my vision despite it being oil-based S kin feels moist...

Product Review: Wet n Wild Eye Makeup Remover + Lesson Learned

Image
I love wearing anything waterproof.  From foundation to eyeliner to mascara.  So if there's one thing in my makeup bin that I shouldn't run out of, it would be an eye makeup remover. Last week, I was so happy to stumble upon this: Wet n Wild Eye Makeup Remover Whisk away the most stubborn mascaras, shadows, liners and shimmers. Hypoallergenic, Opthalmologist-tested Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers It's priced at Php180, but got it for only Php150 after the 20% off.  Pretty much a good buy for an almost 90ml of product. I sniffed, and it does smell like a bit of alcohol.  But I still decided to get it. Let's see how it fares.  This is my eye with all the makeup gunk:  eyeshadow primer, eye shadow, eyeliner and mascara And this is after using the Wet n Wild eye makeup remover: I put the damp cotton on my eye closed and let it stay there for 10-15 seconds.  It didn't do anything ...
