NOTD: Brushed...

Here's another attempt on nail art: Okay, this may not look like "art" (laughs). It didn't actually come up like what I have in mind, but I just got too lazy to start over again...so pinanindigan ko na! LOL. Turned out, some people liked it.  And well, I like it too.  Love your own, yes!? ^_^ How I did it: 1.  I applied base coat (Revlon) 2. Two coats of rosy beige polish (NYX) as base 3. Dip the ends of a fan brush on a purple shade, and then sweep on the nail starting from the right side going to the left (or from Left to Right) then vice-versa.   4.  Let it dry for a minute then do the same with a pink and then a white shade of polish 5. Finish with a top coat Last weekend, I was so happy because my nails got featured in Manila Bulletin! The feature was made by Jane Kingsu-Cheng , and it was about nail art.  I was featured together with Nikki who happened to be my inspiration in trying out nail art.  I may no...

NOTD: Wet n Wild Megalast Nail Polish in Wet Cement...

Image
Wet n Wild Megalast Salon Nail Color  Sophisticated, classic colors beautifully accent any look. Long-lasting, opaque color provides 5 days of chip-resistant wear.  A revolutionary resin polymer system creates exceptional color adhesion to nails.  This resilient polish is calcium and mineral fortified to rebalance and prevent nail discoloration.  Comes with a unique full-coverage brush that glides on smooth for one-stroke application.  Tolune, phthalate and formaldehyde-free. I've noticed that a lot of drugstore brands are coming up with great nail polishes.  They offer awesome color selection that are long-wearing, ala -gel polish. WnW Megalast polish in Wet Cement Wet Cement is a lovely taupe, that would look good on anyone.  Morena or Tisay.  I applied 4 coats because I like it really dark, and it didn't bubble up.   Consistency is creamy, applies on smoothly and evenly.  And the pigmentation, AWESOME!...

NOTD: Karl Lagerfeld x Shu Uemura in Royal Beige

Image
I remember the first polish I've used...it was Caronia's Touch of Tan .  Wearing nail polish back in highschool's not allowed, so whenever we do, we try to wear something discreet.  I alternate it with Touch of Beige, but I love ToT better. ^_^ Now that wearing nail polish is becoming a lot more usual for me, I go for colors.  But sometimes, wearing classic colors are safer.  Most especially nudes, as it goes well with any outfit. And it helps make your fingers look longer. For this post, I wanna share with you this nail polish from the Karl Lagerfeld collection of Shu Uemura.  The collection has 3 shades of nail polish, and I'm glad this is the one I got: Karl Lagerfeld x Shu Uemura polish in Royal Beige (Mon Shu's saying Hi!) Royal Beige is a pretty nude beige.  It has gold iridescence that's visible in the bottle, but not much once applied.  I love how it make my nails look clean (excuse the dry cuticles, though. eww!) an...

NOTD: Animal prints...

Image
This nail art is by far the easiest to do: ....thank God for nail strips! ^_^ I bought a set of nail strips at Landmark last week for P199, and it has 20 strips in the box.  It would be a lot easier if my nails are of the same size with that of the strips, I had to cut them down to my size.  You should also be careful in sticking the strip onto the nails to prevent bubbles and to make sure they stick on evenly. Then top with your fave top coat and you're good. It's been 5 days already and they still look good. So yeah, I might buy more of these nail strips but would probably use them on special occasions and when I can't count on my "talent" with nail art. ^_^ It's Monday again my lovelies, I hope we would all have a great week! NOTD: Zebra (with a twist)

Image
...because there's no such thing as a red zebra! ^_^ A originally planned of using white, but I realized that I don't have a white nail polish! BOOH! polishes used I find it cute.  Don't you?   I might do this again, but on a white base. ^_^ Please like me on Facebook ( IambrigittePage ) and follow me on Twitter ( Iamsutil ) and Instagram (Iambrigitte)

NOTD: Gold and Purple Ombre...

Image
After several attempts, I find that "ombre nails" has got to be the easiest to do...well, at least among the other designs that I've tried. ^_^ So here's another one: Nail polishes used:   Orly (Frosted White - used as base), Orly (Gold), China Glaze (Purple) China Glaze (primer), Revlon (fast dry top coat) Thanks Mom for letting me use her Shiseido makeup sponge!  Sorry that you just had to throw it away after. ^_^ Please like me on Facebook ( IambrigittePage ) and follow me on Twitter ( Iamsutil ) and Instagram (Iambrigitte)

NOTD: (Sort of) Galaxy...

Image
Does this really look like the galaxy or the skies to you? ^_^ Anyways, I've used a fan brush to come up with the "ombre" effect.  I applied the black first using the usual nail polish brush.  And then using a fan brush, I applied the light blue first, waited for it to dry and then using the fan brush again, I applied the purple.  And then topped everything with glitter polish.  And of course, a top coat. I hope you like it! Please like me on Facebook ( IambrigittePage ) and follow me on Twitter ( Iamsutil ) and Instagram (Iambrigitte)

NOTD: Playful...

Image
And so here's another attempt on doing nail art: I used polishes from Majolica Majorca (Beige), Sky Blue (Orly), Green (Caronia), Pink (Revlon), Orange (Beauty and Butter), Purple and Black (Wet n Wild).   There's some chipping already as these photos were taken 3days after I did the nail art.  And yes, it's messy.  I need to find better nail brushes, most especially those intended for outlining.  I'm enjoying doing nail art, but I prefer doing it on somebody else's nails. (laughs)  I need more practice on doing it on myself.  And I really mean MORE. I hope you like it! NOTD: Leopard-inspired nails...

NOTD: Dots

Image
And so I got my dotting tools last week, I was so excited that I used it as soon as I got home.  So yeah, I skipped dinner and played with my nails instead. (laughs) I know the dots are supposed to be all of the same size...maybe a few more tries, and I'll get there. ^_^ Some have asked me why I am trying to do nail arts lately.  Well, it's just that I've always wanted to learn how to do it. Actually, I want to learn a few more things...like haircutting, haircoloring, maybe rebonding and curling too!  And of course, I also want to learn new techniques in doing makeup.  It's always good to learn new things, right? Hopefully my nail art attempts would get a lot better soon. Happy Sunday, everyone! Please like me on Facebook ( IambrigittePage ) and follow me on Twitter ( Iamsutil ) and Instagram (Iambrigitte)

NOTD: Nail Splatter

Image
Yes, I messed up with my nails again!  This time I used a straw to come up with a splattered design.    I used a pink polish as a base then using a straw, I added the other colors (black, gray and yellow) in a splatter effect.     I honestly thought this Nail Splatter effect is easy, but no..it's not. I ended up messing up the floor and even my bedsheets. (laughs).  But hey, that's just me!  I'm totally a newbie when it comes to nail arts.  I showed this to a friend who said it looks cute, but I can totally see her confusion as to what I have on my nails. LOL! (geesh, my hand looks old!) tata!

NOTD: Ombre, Take Two!

Image
^_^ I wish I can do more than Ombres.  tata!

NOTD: Ombre

Image
I've always wanted to be great in doing nail arts like my good friend, Nikki .  But probably, I was sleeping when God showered the world with that kind of talent.  (laughs)   Anyways, I got inspired with the cute pink-blue combination color of my new iPhone case.  So I decided to create the look on my nails.  I've searched the net how to create an ombre-inspired nails and this is what I came up with:  messy i know! and here's my inspiration: I know there's still a lot I need to improve on.  But I find this cute, don't you? Please say yes.  Pretty please!? ^_^

NOTD: Zoya in Mitzi

Image
I know the weather's being wonky these days, but we all know that summer's just around the corner.  I've been wearing a lot of dark colors for my nails these past few months but now, it's time to get all those refreshing, summer-y colors out!     Zoya Matte in Mitzi I got this as a gift from the Organic Rituals Spa during the exclusive screening of The Vow weeks ago.  Geesh, up until now, I can't still get Tatum's sheepish, cute smile off my mind. (okay, his butt included! LOL)  So if you haven't watched it, try to catch it ASAP.  It's such a heartwarming movie about staying true to your promises and about letting someone you really love go and letting them find themselves first and be happy even if that means not being with you.  Sigh...   Ugh, okay going back to the polish (LOL!)  this shade is a part of Zoya's mod matte summer collection last year.  It's a matte bright lime shade and is perfect for summer.  But I'm ...

NOTD: Inglot Nail Enamel #703

Image
When i visited their store back in Dubai Mall to check out their makeup and nail polishes, I didn't have plans of getting nail polish for myself.  But geesh, this lovely barbie pink polish really caught my attention ...and I just couldn't say No. #703 It looks similar with Revlon's Top Speed in Bubble , but the latter is a tad darker...which I also love. I love this to bits.  I think I'm gonna have to ask Mr. X to get me a backup. ^_^
