A Miracle In A Tube: Happyskin Eye Need A Miracle Corrector

I don't think it would come as a surprise if I tell you that Happyskin is slowly invading my makeup kit.  The number of products that I use from that brand is growing each time they would come up with new releases.  Do I regret it? Not at all. They are affordable, they work great, they look good on most skin tones and they are also infused with ingredients that care for the skin.  Makeup + skincare in one?  Oh yes!

Today,  I wanna share with you one of their products that I don't think I can live without...their Eye Need A Miracle Corrector.  I've been using it since the day I got it and I haven't reached out since then to my Benefit Erase Paste which I've been using for the longest time. Oh well, it's really hard to be loyal to a makeup product when you come across something that works as good, if not better, at a cheaper cost. So please, don't judge me! (wink)

Happy Skin Eye Need A Miracle Corrector
(Php 799)

This baby is not just a corrector for the under eyes, you can also use it to correct scars, birthmarks, freckles and any other skin pigmentations.  The idea behind correctors is to neutralize the area first, before putting another color on top of it. In the case of this corrector, it has salmon (peachy) tones in it that is great in neutralizing bluish tones. After neutralizing the area, you can now top it off with a concealer or a foundation with the same shade as your skin to better even it out.  The result? Skin looks more flawless without looking cakey.  When you try to conceal an area without neutralizing it first, you'd be piling up the product layer by layer and still end up with an uneven skin tone (which can look grayish) and with a makeup that is looking cakey. Now, who wants that? Hands in the air, anyone?

I use this solely on my under eyes area and what I really like about it is that, aside from it neutralizes the area, it also helps in brightening it up.  On most days, I just set it with powder and that's it.  But sometimes, I still put a concealer on which is lighter than my skin tone to really brighten up that area.

NARS Audacious Lipstick in Brigitte

Ah finally, my first NARS lipstick!  And yes, it's named after me.  Hahaha, I wish!  All these 40 shades from the Audacious lipstick line are named after women who have inspired Francois Nars.  I'm just lucky may katukayo ako among these women.
^_^

These lippies were launched Fall of last year and one of my blogger friends told me that one  of the shades has my name. It got me excited since it's the first time there's a makeup with my name but I never got to check it out until last month. O-ha, my EQ has indeed levelled-up with regards to buying makeup.  Hindi na ako ganon kaadik, I think.  Hahaha.

Priced at AED 165, this has got to be the most expensive lippie in my stash.  I must admit I was hesitant to buy it at first, because 1) I am not really a lippie-kind-of-person and 2) I already have a lot!  So I couldn't really justify the moolah I'd be shelling out for just one lipstick. But then again, it has my name on it eh!  So I know I really need to buy it.  Okay fine, don't judge me.

Swatched and Reviewed: Revlon Ultra HD Lipsticks in Gladiolus, Iris and Poppy

Revlon Ultra HD Lipsticks
(AED 52)

I think this is the newest line of lipstick from Revlon (one of my favourite drugstore brands, and probably yours too!) which claims to be made of wax-free high-definition gel technology that will deliver true color clarity without the heavy feel.

It comes in 20 shades, all named after flowers, but I think we only have 14 shades available here in the UAE.  Not sure as I only read it somewhere, but let me get back to you on that!
^_^

875 Gladioulus - 850 Iris - 895 Poppy

The packaging comes in reflective silver tubes and clear plastic caps that makes it easier to see the actual color of the lippie. Unlike most lipsticks, these are cut in a slanted way which I think makes it hard to apply the lip color directly from the tube and without getting some color outside your lips.  But maybe that's just me!  The stick also doesn't twist all the way down, making it easy to be nicked when you are taking off the cap or putting it back on.

Iris - Gladiolus - Poppy

These shades that I got have great pigmentation. They don't come off as opaque as I want them to be on the first swipe, but they are definitely buildable.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25HR Liquid and Powder Foundation

Opps, I did it again...I went MIA in updating this blog for weeks.  I know, I know...I've been promising that I would try to update more often but I just keep on breaking that promise.  It's just that a lot have been going on and no matter how hard I try, I keep on losing my focus. I've been worrying too much lately about things and I admit, sometimes I find myself wondering if it's still worth it to keep going on or if it's better to just let go, and accept that maybe, some things aren't just meant for me after all. I'm just human, I also get tired and I tend to lose hope too.

Anyway, I am sorry for messing up your Monday with my kadramahan.  I just need to let some of these out, or else I'd go crazy.  I'm not sure if you still read my full blog entry or you just scan through the post, but if you do and you get to read these lines, please say a little prayer for me.  I really appreciate it, most especially during these times that I kinda feel alone.

-- end of drama here --

Today, let me share with you another foundation that I've been liking these days. The last foundation I have reviewed was the L'oreal Infallible liquid foundation and don't get me wrong, I still love that foundation but fellow makeup junkies would surely understand why we  keep on exploring new options.  Yes?

Sorry I forgot the price but me thinks it doesn't cost more than AED 80.

Boost Your Skin's Natural Radiance with Burt's Bees Radiance

Do you get enough sleep?  I don't.  During weekdays, I only get to have 4-5hrs of sleep.  Sometimes, I get longer hours but that only happens when I go straight to bed as soon I arrive from work. I am usually dead tired after a day's work so as soon as I hit the bed, I'll be off to dreamland.  Okay na sana, but the thing is, I'd still have my makeup on. And if ever I wake up in the middle of the night, I'd be too lazy (and sleepy) to get up and wash my face.

The result?  My skin breaks out.  Sometimes I get lucky that my skin would still behave despite the ordeal it goes thru but I would notice that my skin would look dull, tired and well, old. Yaiks!  I know I'm not getting younger but that doesn't mean it should show up on my skin. Tama!? I wish to get that youthful glow back despite my already tita-stage age. Well, who doesn't?

I've been contemplating to go back to Obagi Nuderm but with this scorching heat, I think I would have to wait until the (desert) winter kicks in again. I was on the lookout for a good skincare regimen that will help my skin look and feel good without the need to undergo facials and peels. And so when I was given the chance to try out the Radiance line from Burt's Bees, I know I am in for a good treat as I've read a lot of good things about it.

 Burt's Bees Radiance

The Burt's Bees Radiance Line contains one of nature's most nourishing substances, Royal Jelly, to help boost the skin's natural radiance. This ingredient is also known for its moisturizing, healing and anti-aging properties.

The Radiance skincare line is consists of 8 skincare products: Cleanser, Toner, Serum, Day Cream, Day Lotion, Eye Cream, Night Cream and Body Lotion. I was able to try 4 and so let me share with you my experience in using these products.

Summer Scent: Eternity Summer 2015 (for Women) by Calvin Klein

Happy Tuesday, my loves!

Oh-Em-Gee, can you believe it's June already?  Don't get me wrong, it's also the 2nd of June here on my side of the world, it's just that my reaction came too late. LOL!   But seriously, time really flies.  It feels like we've just celebrated New Year the other day!
^_^

Anyway, summer is definitely on here in the UAE. I think our temperature here reaches almost 40C (or beyond?) during the day.  I get off from the office at around 5-ish and as soon as I step out, I feel like I'm in sauna or there's a tambutso (car exhaust) right in front of my face.  It's so freakin' hot!  But if you think that's too hot already, just wait until it's July or August when our temperature reaches as high as 50C! So whenever I talk to my friends in Manila and they complain how hot it is there, I'd be like, "yeah, whatever!"

Summer is all about florals, loose and light-colored clothes and of course, fragrances that will leave you smelling fresh and airy. Let's set aside our heavier scents for now and wear something that is simple and light. So today I'm gonna share with you one of the summer fragrances that I am using (and liking) at the moment, the Eternity Summer (2015) for Women:

Calvin Klein Eternity Summer 2015 For Women
(AED 310)

Top notes: green pear, mandarin, watermelon
Mid notes: pink peony, water lily, blue hyacinth
Base notes: white amber, musk, sandalwood

Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Dusty Pink...

I've first posted about the Bobbi Brown Art Sticks a year ago and I did say that I'd try to get my hands on other shades. Well, I finally did!  But since I don't have a lot of extra moolah, I chose the shade that I think would suit me best (next to nudes!), Dusty Pink!

Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Dusty Pink
(AED 155)

It does suit me, right?
^_^

I try my best to explore other shades than my usual nudes and pinks, but what can I do, I always gravitate towards these two shades.  I really wish I can be as adventurous with lippies as much as I am with my eye makeup. I guess I can call myself "chicken" when it comes to wearing bolder lip colors.

Just like my first Bobbi Brown Art Stick, this baby is moisturizing on the lips and stays put for a good 4-5 hours.

My eyes are still on the other Art Stick shades.  I wish we won't have to wait for another year to see another shade on this blog.
