Product Review: Stila Double-Ended Blending Sponge...

Image
I am pretty sure this isn't the first time you'd read about blending sponges.  The famous Beauty Blender has been around for years now and a lot of dupes have been  made available at a cheaper price.  I've also tried Beauty Blender and it's a dream to apply liquid/cream foundation using it.  I love how flawless the finish is, that it actually looks like you've been airbrushed.   When I was at Ulta last month, I saw an almost similar blending sponge like Beauty Blender at Stila.  But it's black, and a lot sexier. ^_^ Stila Double-Ended Blending Sponge, $12 Apply makeup like the pros with this soft touch, dual-ended sponge applicator which applies makeup immaculately for a smooth, streak-free finish.   What sets this ingenious sponge apart is that it’s double-ended, with a rounded tip on one end to apply makeup all over the face and neck.   Flip the sponge over for a pointed tip to access hard to reach areas and for precision b...

i know i was supposed to give you a colorful, or at least something different from what i've been wearing from Monday-Thursday...but today, i just reached for my Heatherette Trio palette and opted for a subtle look. i dunno, but aside from feeling lazy today...i feel so heavy (yeah, i know i've gained weight..but i don't mean that! lol) and restless. i am worrying too much about a lot of things again....arrrgh! i need a vacation! too much overtime in the office and lack of sleep maybe the culprits...i think i'm gonna pop a few sleeping pills and sleep the entire weekend! but i guess i am one unlucky biatch tonight for i missed the last trip of the bus....so here i am, passing time in the office and waiting for the first trip at 3am. sniff.. anyways, here's my look. my "happy friday" eotd: subtle blues

Image
'twas a friday once again, and of course, it's my time to stray from my M-TH neutrals...woot! it's really hard to try hard to practice on my makeup skills nowadays, not just because i can't wear bold colors during the day but also because i get a lot of stares in the office...for there are no girls who wear makeup other than me. so i sometimes get the question "are you going to a party? to an interview?" yadah yadah. okay, enough with the ranting and on with the looks: EYES: PAC Brow kit in Dark topped with MAC Girl Boy UDPP Watercolors trio in CAPRI, Stila Smudge pot in Black on the upper lash lines MAC Plush Lash mascara Artdeco eyeliner in White on the waterlines FACE: Smashbox Photofinish light Cinema Secrets concealer Earthen Glow Mineral Foundation in Theoda MAC Sculpt and Shape for contouring MAC mineralized blush in Dainty MUFE HD loose powder as finishing powder LIPS: MAC Lip Gellee i haven't been able to use this eyeshadow trio for a loooong ti...

Tutorial: Neutral eye-makeup...

Image
A reader requested for a neutral eyes tutorial a loooong time ago (sorry dear, i know it's been ages...), so here's my attempt. I planned on having a video tutorial but it will take more time to edit, so for now, i hope pictures will do. For this look, i used my Smashbox Quad in Juxtapose: Start with applying primer on the lids. I've used Too Faced Shadow Insurance and MAC PP in Soft Ochre on top. 1. Pat color #1 on the lids, up to the crease 2. Using a big blending brush (MAC 224), blend the color so there would be no harsh lines to get this: 3. Using a smaller blending brush (MAC 217) apply color #2 on the outer corner and on the outer crease to get this: 4. Using a much smaller crease brush (NARS #12), apply color #3 where you applied color #2. This would give more definition... 5. Blend...blend...blend 6. Apply color #4 under the browbones to highlight blend the crease color upwards too, to get rid of the harsh lines 7. Apply color #1 on the inner lower lashlines a...
