Swatched and Reviewed: Revlon Ultra HD Lipsticks in Gladiolus, Iris and Poppy

Image
Revlon Ultra HD Lipsticks  (AED 52) I think this is the newest line of lipstick from Revlon (one of my favourite drugstore brands, and probably yours too!) which claims to be made of wax-free high-definition gel technology that will deliver true color clarity without the heavy feel.   It comes in 20 shades, all named after flowers, but I think we only have 14 shades available here in the UAE.  Not sure as I only read it somewhere, but let me get back to you on that! ^_^ 875 Gladioulus - 850 Iris - 895 Poppy The packaging comes in reflective silver tubes and clear plastic caps that makes it easier to see the actual color of the lippie. Unlike most lipsticks, these are cut in a slanted way which I think makes it hard to apply the lip color directly from the tube and without getting some color outside your lips.  But maybe that's just me!  The stick also doesn't twist all the way down, making it easy to be nicked when you...

Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in Shanghai Sizzle and Parisian Passion

It's a Monday once again, my loves!  And though today isn't everybody's favourite, let's try to be more positive here shall we?  I know it sucks because it's the start of another work week for others, mine started yesterday though I didn't come in to work, so technically my work week starts today as well.  But time flies so fast, it's gonna be the weekend again before we know it.  And it's gonna be payday weekend for me so yes, I can't wait! ^_^ If there's one drugstore brand that I have featured the most on this blog, it has got to be Revlon. It's no surprise since I really love the brand.  It's one of the makeup brands that I've played with when I started with makeup.  If I remember it right, my first Revlon product is the lippie in the shade Pink in the Afternoon .  Was it that or the Colorstay liquid foundation? Ugh, old age. Tee-hee!  Anyway for today, let me do the pleasure of featuring the brand once again.  ...

Do Your Own Gel Mani/Pedi with Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy

Image
Have you tried wearing gel manicure/pedicure?  I did. While I love the fact that it is indeed long lasting (2-3 weeks), I just hate that I need to go back to the salon to have it removed just because you can't remove it using the usual acetone.  And if you happen to have a dark shade of color, you are pretty much stuck with that color for weeks.  So what I do is I try to get a shade that can be topped off with another color when I am starting to get bored.  And yes, only the top color gets removed with acetone.   Another reason why I am not 100% involve with gel manicure/pedicure is that it takes a long time to get it done as it requires UV drying for every coat.  I usually get to spend more than an hour for cleaning plus gel manicure each time...twice that time when I want to have gel pedicure too!  And lastly, gel manicure/pedicure is expensive.  Here in UAE, it'll cost you almost AED300 (or more, depends on which salon).   ...

Revlon Nail Parfumerie: Swatches + Review...

Image
I first saw these scented nail polishes from Revlon when I was in the Philippines last summer and I was like, "What's up with scented nail polishes?"   I didn't really bother checking them out so I don't have an idea if they are priced higher than the usual nail polish. If I did and found out that they are pricier, then maybe I'd be disappointed.  And will probably ask, "Why pay more for such nail polish with a scent that will go away in a few hours?"  Maybe I'd even say it's a total non-sense. Then months ago , I was given a chance to check them out and it totally changed my opinion. I got to look at them closely and 'twas not really their scents that made me realize they are worth trying out, but their colours and their staying power.  I've tried one shade and it did stay chip-free for days! I think it took 5 days before it started to chip and remained presentable for a few more days before I finally realized I need a polis...

New products from Revlon + Sale Alert!

Image
Last weekend,  I went to Mirdiff City Center to check out Revlon's newest products.  They have set up a small kiosk at the mall's ground floor near Sephora and in front of Centerpoint Beauty Bay: Don't you wish you have something like this in your own home too!? ^_^

My Barney Lips...

Image
I love you, you love me Let's go out and kill Barney With a shot gun bang! bang! Barney's on the floor,  No more stupid dinosaur! (evil laugh) Okay, before somebody kills me for killing Barney, let me show you probably one of the boldest lip color that I have to date: (excuse the red marks on my face...and don't get me started with my lady mustache!) I'm wearing here Revlon's Colorburst Matte Balm in Shameless which I've been dying to have since the first time I saw a swatch online. I've waited for months before I finally got my hands on it because unfortunately, product launches are a bit (such an understatement, really) delayed here in the UAE. This particular line from Revlon has been out in PH early this year while it just got released here a week ago.   Anyways, I got this lippie while on vacation in PH.  I saw these lippies at Watsons in SM Baguio and though I wanted to get more, the remaining shades they have are those I...

Product Review: Revlon Nearly Naked Liquid Foundation and Pressed Powder...

Image
I was still in Manila when I first read about this Nearly Naked line from Revlon.  I hoped and prayed that it becomes available because I was really itching to try it.  I know I have a lot of foundations/powders already..but, its promise of natural-looking makeup is just so hard to ignore.  Who doesn't want that anyway? And one more thing...a girl can never have too much makeup, right? So what the heck, I am so gonna get it once it becomes available was what I told myself.  I left mid-August, and still no signs of Revlon Nearly Naked.  Disappointed?  A bit.  But not for long.  Because I was on my way to the US...and that's where the reviews about this new line are coming from. Yey! I went straight to the Revlon section on my very first trip to the CVS pharmacy near our hotel.  I was that excited! REVLON Nearly Naked Makeup (Liquid Foundation) and Pressed Powder Both products, according to Revlon, assures you of natural-lo...

Playing With Makeup: Arabic

Image
It's been a while since I last did a full face makeup.  For almost two months, I've been skipping the eye makeup except for the liner and mascara so I got a bit worried that my blending skills might have been rusty already.  So when I got really bored the other day, I decided to play with makeup and come up with something suitable for where I am now... Yes, my loves..for those who don't know yet, I am now in UAE! ^_^ FACE: Lancome Perfecting Makeup Primer Product Review: Naturactor Cover Face Graftobia HD Pro Powder Foundation in Alabaster Baby Sleek Contour Kit in Medium (contour and highlight) MAC blush in Tippy EYES: KPalette Long Lasting Eye Brow In2it Eyebrow powder Urban Decay Anti-aging Eye Primer Potion MAC eyeshadows in Amber Lights (entire lid, lower lash lines), Beauty Marked and Carbon (outer-V), Jest and Sushi Flower (crease) KPalette Long Lasting Eyeliner in Black 3S Lashes in Whispering LIPS: MAC lipst...

Nail Art: Spray Water Marble...

Image
Hiyee!   How's Monday treating you so far?  I'm kinda hoping it's still a weekend..as I miss watching my fave series as of the moment,The Vampire Diaries!  I know, I'm so late since I'm just on the last episodes of Season 1, but I'm getting there. LoL!   And can I just say, Damon is sooooo cute!  I love his smoldering eyes... ^_^ Anyways, I wanna show you this nail art that I've learned from my former classmate in HS who's so good in doing nail art.  Her name is Mia, go check her Instagram account nailsbymiawrrr.  Her works are amazing! By the way, here's what I came up with: And here's how I did it: 1. Apply primer (Revlon) and your base polish (Orly in Liquid Vinyl) of choice.  2.  On a disposable cup with warm water, put a few drops of another shade of polish of your choice. I chose Orly in Cotton Candy.  When you have the circle of polish in the water, spray some cologne (or any spray, I chose ...

Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy and Expressionist...

Image
I miss doing nail art.  I remember when I got so into it, I would change my polish as often as every other day.  I wish I can do it as often, but well, I simply can't. Good to know that a lot of brands are now coming up with nail polishes that can be used to create nail arts easier.  I've tried the BYS Glitter Dust for Nails  and it's such an easy way to have glamorous, red carpet-worthy tips in no time.   And then I got these nail art polishes from Revlon, which I'll be showing you for today's post... Revlon Moon Candy in Orbit Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy in Moon Dust These Moon Candy Nail Art polishes has a creme polish at one end and another end with iridescent flakies. The creme polishes are really opaque that one coat is already enough. Now to apply the flakies on top of your base can be difficult and quite messy.  First because it can be hard to get a good amount on the brush.  I actually kept on putting the brush ...

New stuff from Revlon...

Image
My (and probably yours too) favorite drugstore brand has yet again released new products. I remember months ago when Revlon released new foundations and lipsticks.  And now the brand is back with new eyeshadow palettes, nail art polishes and a BB cream.   Revlon Photoready Primer + Shadow Aside from 3 matching eye shadows, this palette comes with a primer. It also has a sparkle eyeshadow that you can use on top of your lid color for an added multi-dimensional, intense shimmering effect.  Aside from the instructions at the back, the eye shadows are placed in eye-shaped pans, so you'd know exactly where to apply each color. For nail art enthusiasts out there, Revlon also came out with these easy-to-use nail art polishes: Revlon Nail Art Expressionist  These are expertly matched nail polish duos with a skinny nail art brush on one end.  I love doing nail art, but I don't have a steady hand so I always depend on a good nail ar...
