Our Crab Fest Experience at Chimes...

I love seafood. Good thing I am not allergic to it like some people or else, I'd be miserable. Oh alright, I'm exaggerating.  But really, I just can't imagine my life without my favourite sweet chilli or steamed crabs and shrimps!  I know that some people don't really like seafood because it can be messy to eat them, but I don't mind at all.  C'mon, what's not fun with eating with your hands?   ^_^ So when I got an invite to check out Chimes' Crab Festival, the seafood lover in me just couldn't say No.   Chimes is a small restaurant located in Barsha (Dubai) which offers an extensive menu of specialties from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.  The interiors are  simple and they have an open kitchen so you can see their chefs working on their magic while you wait for your food.  They only have 5-6 tables in the restaurant and I heard the place can be jam-packed during weekends so make sure to make a reserv...

One thing that I look forward to weekends is dining out.  I've been doing a lot of cooking lately and like my Mama Wheng, there are days when I could no longer think of what to cook.  If there's something like a writer's block, then I guess there's also such thing as a cook's block!? Ugh, I'm sure you get my point. ^_^ Anyways, even back in Manila, I just love checking out new restaurants.  I've always been adventurous when it comes to food, so I don't really mind doing some sort of trial and error when it comes to my food.  Heck, the same thing happens to most of my cooking. (laughs)   Not unless of course when I'm really starving, stressed and in a bad need of some comfort food.  In such cases, I make sure I go to a restaurant where I had a good experience dining in previously…or to put it simply, where I left with a bulging tummy and a wide grin plastered on my face.
