   Two weeks ago, yours truly got an invite to attend the grand opening of Studio XY, a cool new salon located at the NYU Campus in Abu Dhabi. We know that ladies (and well, men too!) consider a salon as one of the best places to de-stress.  It's basically one of the places that we go to for some good "Me" time. I've been to some salons here in the UAE and I have my favorites already, but that won't stop me from checking out new places where me and my girls can spend a day pampering ourselves and getting ready for let's say, another crazy week at work. Rimowa has finally opened its first store in the UAE and it's located in the ground floor of the Abu Dhabi Mall (right across Sephora).  The store was inaugurated by HH Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Social Development of UAE in the presence of HE Dr. Eckhard Lubkemeier, the German Ambassador to the UAE, RIMOWA President & CEO Dieter Morszeck and Tony Jashanmal, Group Director of Jashanmal Group.       The 185sqm store resembles the clean, sleek and modern aesthetic of the RIMOWA cases and their signature grooves.  

  The event was held at the lovely Fortnum & Mason in Downtown Dubai,  known as one of London's most famous stores when it comes to luxury food items and quintessential English afternoon tea.   As soon as I stepped inside, I already felt the girly, carefree vibe because there's a lot of pinkness going on.  Each table were adorned with mini Givenchy goodies that were included in the Givenchy-exclusive Glambox some months ago, and of course with Fortnum and Mason's mouthwatering high tea delights.           Givenchy and Glambox specially curated box for the month of July featuring the former's signature products    

A few weeks ago, I was invited to attend the #LushChristmas2015 event where Lush would be showcasing their new Festive Collection together with their all-time favorites. The brand is also celebrating their 20th Anniversary, and I bet every one can say that they have really gone a long way: from starting out as a family-run business in 1995 with just one shop in UK until they became a global cosmetics phenomenon with more than 900 stores in 49 countries. It was not my first time to attend a LUSH event and after having a blast at the first one, I just knew that I shouldn't miss out on this next event. Christmas in September? When I got the invite from Sarah (OpinionatedSarah) for the Oblogger party two weeks ago, I just knew I would not miss it for the world.  Why? One: I had a great time last year during the first Oblogger party as I've finally got the chance to meet fellow bloggers I've been lurking online (tee-hee!), got my hands on amazing goodie bags and well, I won an Escada sunglasses!  And two:  It will be held in the largest beauty spa in the Middle East, the Beauty Connection Spa.  As I've mentioned on my Birthday Wishlist blog post, I am on the lookout for a good spa where I can spend half a day (or a day) just pampering myself. So I told myself this is a chance for me to check out one of the most talked about spa here in the UAE. I can hardly remember the last time I was able to attend an event in Dubai.  Aside from I don't get invites that often, it also happens that if I do, it's always on a weekday and during office hours. Bummer, right!?  So when I got an invite to attend a perfume launch that will be held on a Thursday and after office hours, I knew I just had to be there.  Besides, I need to get my mind off a lot of things.  I need some fresh air, I need to meet new friends...I am in a bad need of a social life! I learned that this is the first time for such event to be held here in the UAE.  So yes, I do consider myself lucky to be one of the firsts to experience it.  The setup: 'twas also my first time to attend such event (I think the first MAC Instant Artistry in Manila was held just this year too!) so I was quite surprised to see the setup: almost everything was in white, instead of the usual black which is the sort-of branding color of the brand.
