My October 2014 Glambox...

Image
'sup my loves!? It's midweek (at least in this part of our world) and I'm sure like me,  you can't wait until it's again the weekend. What are your plans?   For me, I'm expecting this weekend to be busier than my usual eat-sleep-watch tv, because there's a few errands hubby and I need to do, a kids' party and a crash course training for my new job. Oh yeah,  I am moving to a new job. I'd tell you about it later but for now, I can tell you that I'm scared. Scared because it's gonna be something new for me and it was decision I've thought long and hard.  Geesh,  I still have second thoughts about it to be honest but I already made a decision.  I just hope and pray that this change will be worth it and that this is  indeed something that I need to do for now.  SIGH.   Hay Lord, ikaw na po bahala. Anyways, another month is ending it's again time for unboxing a beauty box from Glambox Middle East!  Unlike last month's box, thi...

Clarins Autumn 2014 Makeup Collection...

Image
For autumn, the essentials are matte, tones of nude, beige and auburn.  I know some may see neutrals as boring (like I used to!) but with Clarins Autumn 2014 collection called Ladylike, it's all about elegance, natural beauty and femininity.  via Let's try to get to know each product in the collection: Perfect Eyes and Brows Palette (AED 210) If there's one item I'd like to get my hands on from this collection, it will be this!  It has 3 powder shades that you can also use as eyeshadows for a simple, neutral look, a nude pink shade eyeshadow that can be used on the inner corners of the eyes or just below the browbone to highlight and a transparent wax to keep those unruly brow hairs primped all day.  You also get a tweezer, a spoolie and an eyeshadow applicator.   Eye Quartet Mineral Palette (AED 230) This palette includes shade of soft beige, intense dark brown and two taupes. It can be used wet or dry and since they a...

Our Crab Fest Experience at Chimes...

Image
I love seafood. Good thing I am not allergic to it like some people or else, I'd be miserable. Oh alright, I'm exaggerating.  But really, I just can't imagine my life without my favourite sweet chilli or steamed crabs and shrimps!  I know that some people don't really like seafood because it can be messy to eat them, but I don't mind at all.  C'mon, what's not fun with eating with your hands?   ^_^ So when I got an invite to check out Chimes' Crab Festival, the seafood lover in me just couldn't say No.   Chimes is a small restaurant located in Barsha (Dubai) which offers an extensive menu of specialties from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.  The interiors are  simple and they have an open kitchen so you can see their chefs working on their magic while you wait for your food.  They only have 5-6 tables in the restaurant and I heard the place can be jam-packed during weekends so make sure to make a reserv...

Glambox's January Box...

Image
Can you believe it?  We're almost done with the first month of 2014! Despite being not that busy, I was surprised that I didn't notice that days have been passing by so quick.  Now that I finally did notice, I am just getting a lot more excited…why, you ask?  Well, it's because I am going home in two months!      YES, I am going home but only for two weeks.  And if circumstances change, I might only get to stay for a few days.  My sister's graduating from college (can you also believe that!? 'twas just like yesterday when I posted her makeup look for her Senior Prom!) and I have to be there. So yes, I'm still not sure how long I'd be able to stay, but I'm 100% sure that I am coming home.  Anyways, another thing that made me notice that January's almost over is that, I already got my January box from Glambox.   Unlike beauty boxes back in PH which arrive first week of each month, Glambox boxes usually arrive on the 3rd week. ...

My Brazilian Wax Experience at NStyle Nail Lounge...

Image
A few months ago, I posted my BW experience at Sisters Beauty Lounge . And though I liked it (except for the attendant not stepping out of the room when I was asked to remove my undies, LoL!) I decided to check out other beauty salons that offer brazilian waxing when it was time again for another session.  I initially went to Profile Salon inside  Harvey Nichols in MoE but their waxing service is already fully booked.  I asked if I can get a haircut instead and yes, they are also full!  Darn, this salon might be really good because they are really in-demand.  I was told to call for an appointment first,  so I can be sure to have a slot when I go there next time. I was disappointed and thought of just going home instead, but I just hate not being able to do the things I intended to do on a certain day.  Besides, i'm already due (yes, it's that important! Hahha) for a brazilian wax.  I don't do it monthly just because I don't reall...

Smiling BKK: (Quirky) Thai in Dubai...

Image
I've always loved Thai food.  Well, at least I've started loving it some few years back when me and my family stumbled upon Jatujak during one of our shopping days at SM MOA in the Philippines.  Mom loved their Pomelo salad so much that we eat there for at least 2-3x a month.  Not too often you say?  Well, my family lives in the province while I stay at the northern part of Manila and we travel all the way to SM MOA for Jatujak…and of course, some shopping.  Hahaha. A few nights after I arrived here in Dubai, my husband asked me where I would want to go for dinner.  I should've said any Arabic restaurant, but knowing that my husband isn't as adventurous as I am with food, I just asked him to treat me to a nice Thai restaurant instead.  Besides, I am beginning to miss Thai food. I actually consider it my comfort food. It's one cuisine I go to at times when I feel like eating more rice than the usual. Hahaha!  The husband immediately kne...

New stuff from Avon...

Image
AVON ...Who among us here have never tried, or at least heard about this brand at one point in our lives? I still remember that lady who comes to our house every first week of the month, with the latest brochure on her hand, offering us items from AVON for a one-month installment basis LOL! Geesh, I think AVON was my first brand of makeup...probably undies too (hahaha) and even perfume. My fave back then was Sweet Honesty. I felt all grown up even at the young age of 13 whenever I wear that scent. ^_^ Thru the years, AVON has been offering us new innovations in skincare, makeup and fragrances. My love for their products didn't end during my younger years (yeah, i'm old!). My post about their latest hair products will prove that I still get curious on their new offerings, because the brand will always be one of those that I know I can trust. AVON always come up with new products, so we can have more choices on what will work for us. Let me share with you some of thei...

A day of pampering at Ellen's Aesthetic Center Part I...

Image
I've been hearing about Ellen's Aesthetic Center and seeing their signboard in Pampanga (whenever I'm on my way home) since time immemorial, so I knew they have been in the beauty industry for a long time already. Truth be told, I thought Ellens is more for older women and that they don't have advanced beauty treatments/services. Oh boy, I was so WRONG. It was one rainy Saturday when Sophie scheduled me to have a beauty and pampering day at Ellens. After our (supposedly light) lunch at King Chef, we went straight to Ellens branch at Tomas Morato and this is what greeted me: I didn't know that they are the faces of Ellens Aesthetic Center. So there, my stupid thinking is starting to get corrected. I love their interiors: this display cabinet feels and looks so majestic! very clean and cozy the stairs on the right is the way to their upper floors where the pampering begins When Sophie told me about their footspa area, I got so curious and when I finally saw it for ...
