Travels: Armenia and Georgia

Oh yes, I am still alive...and kicking! I know I've been MIA for more than a month and if you've read my last post, you pretty much have an idea of what I've been and still going thru. I'm doing fine, though I still get a bit emotional on some days...but as compared to how I was a month ago, I can say I am doing better.  I am still hurting, yes, but I really don't have much choice these days but to accept that these things have happened and that I need to move on.  Move on and hope for the best.  For those who sent me messages after reading my last post, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Most of you I haven't met personally, but you took time to give me words of encouragement.  Thank you for including me in your prayers. I am really, really thankful for making me feel that I am not alone in this ordeal after all. So last month, I finally ticked off an item from my bucket list: I finally traveled solo!  I visited two countries: Armenia with friends a...

A Glimpse Of The Past At Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar

Image
When I was still studying, one of my favourite subjects is History, specifically Philippine History.  What others find to be boring, I find to be exciting. Does this mean I am boring? Hahaha! Hopefully not.   I remember having a blast in the streets of Vigan which is famous for their ancestral houses.  There was this certain eerie feeling I get when I look at old houses.  It's as if somebody is going to peek thru those closed windows and instead of being scared, I sort of hope that somebody would.  Weird, but maybe I was thinking that if ever I'd see ghosts, they would be in the likes of Maria Clara and Jose Rizal.  ^_^ I wanted to go back to Vigan and get to enjoy a bit of our history again but we just didn't have the time for the long travel. Good thing there's one place near my hometown (Balanga)  where you can also get the feeling of being transported back in time.  Where else but in Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar. Las...

Where to stay in Baguio: Peredo's Lodging House

Image
Whenever I go home to PH for a vacation, I always ask Mom if we can go to Baguio. Aside from we love the weather there, it now only takes us a 3-4hr drive going there from Bataan. Thank God for SCTEX and TPLEX!  Nga pala , if you don't know yet, I am a graduate of SLU Baguio. Yep, I spent 4 years and Baguio!  But still, I don't think I'll get enough of the place.  I think if I am to choose between Tagaytay and Baguio, I'd choose the latter any time. Me and my family loves staying in nice, fancy hotels. I mean, who isn't?  But whenever we go up in Baguio, we are not after a staycation. Usually, we go out early morning, go around, meet friends then go home early evening to freshen up and then go out  again for dinner. So to get a hotel and not stay most of the time in there isn't really practical. That's why when we go to Baguio, we don't book a hotel...instead, we stay at Peredo's Lodging House. Peredo's Lodging House We first heard abo...

Travel: Kamay Ni Hesus in Lucban Quezon

Image
Since today is Holy Thursday, I decided to put up this post about our travel year ago to probably one of the famous pilgrimage destinations in the Philippines, the Kamay ni Hesus Shrine in Lucban, Quezon. The shrine is a healing center built under the initiative of Fr. Joseph Ayala Faller, a well-known healing priest. A healing mass is conducted at the chapel every Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:30AM.  We went there on a Wednesday but unfortunately, we arrived there past noon so we weren't able to attend the healing mass. As soon as you enter the vicinity, it would be impossible to miss this amazing view of the hill where the 50-ft status of the Ascending Christ is erected.  I am not a fan of walking, much more climbing, so it was really a big challenge for me.  It was also around 1pm when we started the trekking the Way of the Cross going up the hill so imagine the torturing heat of the sun plus the humid air.  It felt like we were in a sauna.  But ...

US Trip: Weekend at Washington...

Image
I know this is way too long overdue, but I still want to make kwento and show you pictures of my travel in the US last Aug-Sept. ^_^ For this post, I'll be showing you photos taken during our short weekend trip to Washington: photo taken at a bridge, a few miles away from Washington one thing that I admire about Washington is that they have an amazingly clean and beautiful subway: Well, as of that time my basis of comparison are that of Manila's and New York's! First stop during our Day 1 was The Capitol: The Capitol is the symbol of the American people and their government, as this is the meeting place of their country's legislature. When I first saw it, I thought it was a museum.  I know, I should've read at least a bit of their history.   ^_^ We're not really sure if this is an official office or not, but the facade is beautiful so we had our pictures taken too: "Ibalik nyo kam...
