Playing with Makeup: Modern Bridal Look...

it's playtime once again, and this time, it's for a dear online friend who requested for a wedding look. sorry if this took a while, sis...i'm quite sure that i wasn't able to copy the look from the peg you showed me, but i do hope you'll like this.

the look is a bit modern as i've used a bit of color compared to neutrals which are usually used in bridal makeup. i enjoyed doing this look since, well...i love colors :) i actually hoped that this is the look i went for when i got married 2 mos ago. i was too confused and excited that i had no time to think of about makeup...and yeah, i was short on time too. but i'll have a second chance, as i am again getting married next year...to the same man, of course!

so here's the look:

PAC brow kit topped with MAC brow set in Beguile
MAC e/s in Jest, All that Glitters on the inner half of the lid and Parfait Amour, Poison Pen on the outer half. (same colors on the lower lashlines) Ricepaper to highlight
MAC Penultimate liner in Rapid Black
UD 24/7 liner in Zero
Majolica Majorca Lash Expander
Ardell false lashes in S3

MUFE HD liquid foundation in 117
MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation in NC25
MAC Accentuate and Sculpt
MAC blush in Dainty
MAC MSF in Perfect Topping
MUFE HD Finishing Powder
MAC l/s in Hug Me
MAC l/g in She Loves Candy (HK)

(excuse the house clothes...lol)

i look cross-eyed here...seriously!

where's my veil?

there goes my modern bridal look...i hope you like it!

til next time...

Product Review: Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner

I know i've already posted about my HG eyeliner months ago, but i don't think finding another great (not to mention, cheap) product that absolutely works would hurt. :)

Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner provides intense colour with deep black undertones.
The water-proof, smudge-proof, transfer-proof formula lasts up to 10 hours.
Paraben-free.

available shades:
Deepest Black, Bold Brown, Fierce Blue and Daring Green
(more shades available at international stores)

It was just one of those days at the mall, just before going home that i chanced upon these new items from Prestige when i dropped by Beauty Bar. I've heard a lot of raves about their eyeliners, but sadly, they didn't work on my uber oily lids when i tried them. I remember buying a few pencil liners but ended up giving them away to friends who immediately liked them.

When i saw these new items together with brow kits and gels, the curious me again decided to give this seemingly great stuff another chance.

So i went ahead and swatched them on my hand. After swatching, i rubbed it and to my disappointment, it smudged. I was about to give up on them when i decided to swatch the blue one. I was about to rub it again when i decided to swatch all the other shades first...and then this SA approached me and tried talking me into buying the brow kit. She was still talking to me when i remembered going back to rubbing the swatches i have on my hand. I rubbed and rubbed while my eyes were still on the SA trying to amaze me with the brow kit. (LOL)

i politely told her that i have spare brow kits at home and i don't need another one soon. I then checked on the swatches on my hand...and was really surprised to see them as fresh as when they were applied. I rubbed, and rubbed and rubbed again...but the liners seem not to be going anywhere.

so yeah, i got myself the one in Bold Brown since i am loving my Revlon liner in Blackest Black.

what i love:

  • smudgeproof...you just have to be patient in setting it for a minute and i assure you, this baby won't be going anywhere after!
  • slides smoothly like a cream eyeliner. the creamy consistency is comparable with that of UD 24/7 pencil liners. but at a cheaper price (less than Php400 locally)
  • and since this goes on like butter, no lid tugging...meaning less chances of getting those nasty wrinkles soon!
  • no allergic reactions...i even tried wearing this while i have my contacts on and no stubborn itching or redness happened
  • intense colors...and i say, really intense!

what i hate:

  • it's so creamy that when i sharpen it, a lot of product gets wasted
  • it's waterproof...but not anymore when you rubbed it. well, at least i don't have to worry about getting it off at the end of the day. my nivea cleansing milk gets rid of it effortlessly.
  • always OOS! i went back to the same store only to find out that they already ran out of this. I tried other branches and still no total intensity liners available...(sniff) so when you come across this, don't let them go away hahaha!
  • limited color selection. i would be more than happy to see shades in purple, silver, white, etc etc.

swatched - rubbed many times - wet then rubbed

on my eye

swatches from MUA.com

TIPS:

  • let it set for a minute at the most before doing anything on it. don't try to smudge it right after application or it will smudge like crazy! LOL once it sets, it's gonna be there until you would want to remove it.
  • i was told that before sharpening, place it inside the fridge first so it won't be that soft and less product will be wasted. haven't tried this though
  • for those who don't want to apply this directly from the pencil, you can also use an eyeliner brush. this works great with my MAC 266 brush

would i buy again?

definitely...if only i'd find stocks!

Last week's loot...

just to prove to you that yours truly has been a good girl the previous week:

NYX eye pencil in Milk, NYX blush in Taupe and Iwhite Scrub and Mask

swatches of NYX Taupe and NYX Milk

see...i didn't go gaga on shopping.
=)

i wish i'd stay this way for a long time, though.

yet another reason to be a proud PINOY...

Pacquiao with his another world title in a 7th different weight division

Once again, Pacquiao fought for us Filipinos who have been faced with a lot of tragedies brought about by typhoons and endless terrorists abductions and killing of innocent lives...not to mention the intrigues and political issues because of the upcoming election. Despite all the struggles our country have been facing, our kababayan PACMAN gave us another reason to remain a proud Pinoy.

CONGRATULATIONS, MANNY PACQUIAO!

Mystic Cool eotd...

i am loving this eye palette from MAC Holiday Collection...colors are vibrant, yet wearable (start with light patting and just build the color as you like).

i must say their eye palettes for this collection are all winners that i am planning to get the other 3 soon. woot!

anyways, here's one (more to come) look i came up with using my Mystic Cool eye palette:

PAC brow kit topped with MUFE Brow corrector in 01
UDPP
MAC e/s in Cool Incantation, Blue Enchantment, Deep Frosted Indig0 (all from the Mystic Cool palette) and Shroom
MAC fluidline in Blacktrack
Majolica Majorca Lash expander
MUFE Aqua Eyes in black

Guerlain Parure Extreme liquid foundation in Beige Clair
MAC MSF in Light
MAC blush in Dainty
MAC Accentuate and Sculpt
MUFE HD Finishing powder
NYX lipgloss in Beige

notice that blond-ish patch of hair at the side of my forehead? that's what you get when you do a DIY-hair coloring, LOL. but it's not something that can't be fixed using some root touch up color wands. (wink!)

my weekend loot...

thanks to mom who attended their annual fitness convention, i spent the entire weekend in a hotel room, left with nothing to do but sleep, eat, watch tv and soak in a bubble bath. i was kidding mom that i am loving that kind of life...so when it was time to check out, i was like "but i'll be missing my room!"

we had snacks at the mall and then mom decided to take a look inside Beauty Bar. i had no stuff to buy in mind but when i saw this brush, i asked mom to get it for me.

Smashbox Bent Eyeliner

i remember Smashbox to be the first brand of imported cosmetics that i got addicted to...and then i switched to MAC.

the best part of this purchase is this:

good deal, huh!?

i browsed the net for some information on my new brush but i wasn't able to find any. the bent eyeliner at their website is this one:

Apply liner like a pro with our best-selling precision brush. The same brush head as our popular EYE LINER BRUSH #8 with an ergonomic bend to conform to the shape of the eyes, providing better control and flawless application in one quick, easy stroke.

anyone who has the same brush as mine? i can't seem to find that brush online...i won't think that it's fake since i got it Beauty Bar. i also haven't tried it yet.

boo!

and yeah, i'm such a good girl for not buying anything else...and the price i paid for (i mean mom has paid for) is just great!

i'm just not sure if i can say the same thing on the weeks to come.

LOL!

Xmas Wishlist 2009...

weeee....Christmas is just around the corner. And though i remember not getting anything from my wishlist last year (boo-hoo wahahahaa), i'd still want to try my luck (accompanied with positive thinking and loads of prayers) on getting my wishes for this year:

an iPhone 3GS (in white preferably).

i grew tired of my old phone, and finally decided to join the growing number of iPhone users. and i don't care if anyone would tell me it's impractical to get one nowadays...this is my list and if you don't like what i have in here, go and get lost! RAWR!

(kidding, kidding)
digicam

my ixus75 is nearing its second year and the pictures are not that clear like it used to. i initially wanted to get a DSLR but i am trying to avoid myself getting addicted to acquiring those expensive lens so i'd rather stick with another point and shoot.

portable makeup table with lights and mirror

i hardly go to gigs these days. so yeah, this would be for personal use.
hahahaah! i think this would help me bring back my mojo on makeup.
oh well...i have this feeling that i'd end up buying these things for myself anyways.
hmpf! LOL

how about you dearies, what are your wishes (material things) for this year?

another "confused" EOTD...

remember my previous "confused" look? i say confused because i had no friggin' idea what combo i'd be going for from the moment i pick up that brush and start patting colors on my lids.

for this look, i wanted to use my new MAC e/s...and tried to stay away from pinks/plums (which has been my usual color combo) but i failed LOL!

PAC Browkit topped with MUFE Brow Corrector in 01
MAC e/s in Pink Freeze, Coppering, Sketch and Shroom
MAC Penultimate liner in Rapid Black
Majolica Majorca Lash Expander

Smashbox Photofinish primer
Guerlain Parure Extreme in Beige Clair
MAC MSF in Light
MAC Dainty
MUFE HD Finishing powder
MAC Accentuate and Sculpt
NYX lipgloss in Smokey Look

i miss really colorful looks like those i wear when i was still working on a night shift. i wish i can wear those at work again...and yeah, (if only looks could kill) die from "their" discriminating looks.

Wanted: Sexy Arms...

who wouldn't want to get rid of flabby arms and have that firm arms/shoulders that would be the envy of many? And yeah, finally have the guts to wear sleeveless to proudly show to the world how sexy your arms are...

well, i can say i am one of those who can't wear sleeveless and be proud of it. aside from the humongous keloid i have on my left shoulder, i have flabby...and i say, FLABBY arms. the keloid i can conceal with makeup, but the flabs...ugh.

and then i came across this:

looks like an ordinary dumbell? hmmm... i actually got curious and impulsively wanted to get one, until i watched the video:

and yeah, that completely changed my mind.
LOL!

oh well, maybe it's just me. i might just have a dirty mind to start with. have you seen this? or anybody who got one?

spill the beans!
=)

MAC look + new haircolor...

Guerlain Parure Extreme Liquid Foundation in 02
MAC MSF Natural in Light
MAC e/s in Wedge and Blue Enchantment
Majolica Majorca Lash Expander
PAC Brow Kit topped with Beguile brow set
MAC Accentuate and Sculpt
MAC Hocus Focus colorful face kit
NYX l/g in Beige

and my new haircolor:

yep, had enough of sporting a dark shade of haircolor. i asked mom last weekend to color my hair with L'oreal Casting Honey Mocha. After rinsing, i totally freaked out when i saw my new color. I think it's too light most especially on the roots...or maybe i'm just no longer used to light shades of haircolor after wearing an almost black shade for months.

to see my previous haircolor, click here.

so what do you think? what suits me better?

tata!
