Estee Lauder Makeup Artist's Portfolio: Swatches + Initial Thoughts...

Image
One thing I love about Christmas is that some people would actually ask you what you want to get as a gift.  And at times like this, you better say what you really want!  Forget about being shy and voice out your heart's desires.   ^_^ Actually, those who really know me don't really have to ask me what I want. They should know already. It's makeup and it doesn't really have to be a high-end brand. Like, seriously!  I started my collection with local brands, even those being sold at bangketas !  (laughs) Well, any gift would do.  As they say, it's the thought that counts! For today, let me show you one of the gifts I got from my Mom who actually didn't get surprised at all when I told her what I want... Estee Lauder Makeup Artists' Portfolio Palette (Holiday 2013 Collection) I can say that this is the most bonggacious palette I ever got as a gift.  I originally asked for the set that includes a gold clutch but according...

LOTD: Deep Blues...

Hiyee, how's the week treating you so far?  It's midweek already and I can't wait til it's the weekend.  I'm excited since I'll be having a trial makeup with a former officemate and good friend this Saturday and on Sunday, I'll  be having my hair colored and treated. Whoa, about time!   For today, I wanna share with you the look I came up with last Friday.  It's kinda "dark" as most of my colleagues commented. But I don't blame them, it's been a while since I last wore a dark, smokey look to work.  Yes, to work...on a rather sunny Friday.  (But it did rain in the early evening, hahaa)   K-Palette Long Lasting Eyebrow The Face Shop automatic eyebrow liner Revlon Photoready Eye Primer + Highlighter  INuovi eyeshadow in Galaxy, MAC eye shadows in Deep Truth and Contrast K-Palette eyeliner in Black Benefit They're Real Mascara The Face Shop falsies UD liner in Zero Yves Rocher Perfect Primer Estee Laude...

LOTD: Gold + tips on faking an "Awake" look

Image
I am sure this isn't the first time I posted a look like this one.  This is my go-to look on days I want an "awake" look despite the (almost) sleepless night before.  I try to focus more on the lips and/or cheeks but I still want to give my eyes a certain "pop." Product Review: Estee Lauder CyberWhite Brilliant Cells Extra Intensive BB Cream SPF 35 PA+++ EXtra

Image
Aside from making your skin look more even, BB creams offer a few other good things like whitening, moisturizing and anti-wrinkling properties...and of course, a good amount of SPF.  They are known to be less harsh, though I was able to use other BB creams in the past that aggravated my already-worse skin condition.  So at times when I feel like my skin needs some rest from my usual liquid foundations, I go for BB Creams. I am loving my Tonymoly Snail BB cream and my Palgantong, but here's another one that I've had a long ago but haven't been able to use until recently. Brilliant Cells Extra Intensive BB Creme Multi Action Formula SPF 35/PA+++ All-in-one cream to brighten and help protect instantly.  Combines a high level SPF with advanced brightening effects and natural-looking coverage.  Lightweight cream keeps skin looking fresh It comes in a white, easy-to-squeeze tube that is sealed upon purchase.  The white packagi...

LOTD: Golds

Image
For years that I've been putting on makeup, I found that wearing golds on the lids is a great way to bring attention to our peepers without being too dramatic. It brightens the eyes, giving that awake look and depending on the intensity, this shade looks good at daytime  and even at night time. For this look, I downplayed the Gold by topping it a bit of peach and instead of using black to define my crease, I used browns and a bit of copper.  I planned for a light, shimmery eyes, and to make sure that I won't look so plain, I opted for a metallic-violet liner to make my eyes pop more. Cutting that crease....

Image
I've been watching some cut the crease tutorials on youtube and decided on coming up with a look.  I can't remember if I already have one (and yes, I'm too lazy to check my previous posts LOL!) so here's my attempt: K-Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow in 01 Rimmel eyebrow pencil Clinique Lid Smoothie in 02 Cashew Later Inglot eyeshadows (orange - lid, white frost - browbone, inner corner, matte light purple - after orange until above crease using a big fluffy eyeshadow brush like MAC 224) MAC eyeshadows (Nocturnelle - on crease using a medium-sized fluffy brush like MAC 222, Carbon - on crease using a pointed brush like MAC 219 and then blended slightly upwards) K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner in Black Milani eyeliner in Black Maybelline False Lashes mascara I first wanted to have a sharp cut-crease look but it might look so dramatic and unusual for a workday makeup, so I did more blending on the crease area than I really should. So yeah, I don...

What's in my makeup bag...

Image
For more than 4 years that I've been blogging, I don't remember ever posting what's in my makeup bag/kit. You already know I am a makeup junkie, but do I really bring tons of makeup when I go out?  Let's see... First, let me show you what my makeup kit: this makeup kit is a gift from Tonymoly last Xmas. Cute, huh!?  i have other makeup kits, but this is what I'm using these days.  It's size is just enough for my daily essentials and fits just right in any of my bags. and here's what inside: I love how spacious this kit is.  It has a separate pocket where I put my brushes. so here's  what I bring everyday: Majolica Majorca Hand Cream (sooo addicted to it!) , Charm Travel Pro stippling and blush brush, Revlon Age Defying Concealer (definitely a must!) , Charm Travel Pro lip brush, Estee Lauder Blush Quad (this depends on what my blush is for the day) , Benefit Hello Flawless Powder (this is LOVE!) , Benefit Benetint (I...

Estee Lauder Deluxe Blush Compact...worthy of a second look!

Image
Oh dear god of makeup, if you exist, please punish me now for taking this awesome baby for granted:  Estee Lauder's Deluxe Blush compact (from their Holiday 2010 kit) I've been ignoring this palette for the longest time.  I am just so used to my MAC blushes for personal use, just because they are in singles and they fit just right in my makeup kit.  Yes, this blush palette is not that big...but I just don't see why I would need to carry all 4 shades of blush so I put this aside and thought of giving this away.   Good thing I didn't!   guess what my favorite shade is!?  Tender Petal - Pink Kiss - Fresh Plum - Rosewood I didn't realize that one can actually get away with just having this blush palette in their makeup kits.  The color selection is awesome; i love that the first 3 are mostly in shades of pink (which i prefer) and the last one, Rosewood can be used for contouring.  Apply with a light hand if you w...

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair: Look Younger on Your Next Birthday challenge

Image
It'll be my birthday months from now and I am turning 33...yes, you've read that right..33!  It's not I don't want to get old...it's inevitable. But if only I could look younger as I grow older,  that would be great!  Who wouldn't want that, anyway!?  Besides, it's possible and I know someone who's like that...getting younger looking as the years go by. She calls it a curse, of course she's kidding.  To be like that isn't really a curse, but a gift!  So when I was asked by our friends from Estee Lauder if I want to take part in the " Look Younger on Your Next Birthday " challenge...I immediately said yes!  Estee Lauder has been a part of my skincare regimen for months now (I'm using their Cyberwhite serum & sunblock) so I know I'll be in good hands.   The challenge is to use their most famous product, the Advanced Night Repair , for 4 weeks to prove that after 30 years, it is still the first and the best anti-aging pr...
