It was year 2004 when Dove started its Campaign for Real Beauty where the principle is to celebrate the natural and physical variation embodied by all women and inspire them to have the confidence to be comfortable with themselves. The Campaign for Real Beauty started after a study that revealed that from a number of women that have been interviewed, only 2% described themselves as beautiful. Six years and a number of beauty campaigns after, another survey has been done and yet, only 4% described themselves as beautiful. Dove has also found out that when women are asked what they found attractive in themselves, they seem to be dumbfounded. But would easily answer when asked what they find attractive in another person.
