A night of Glitz and Glamour at the BYS event...

Do you love nail art but simply don't have the creative hands to do it? Or do you simply love glamorous nails but you don't have the time? Worry no more, BYS makes it a lot easier with their Glitter for Nails!

With 11 gorgeous shades available, you are surely to find something to wear whenever you want to bring some bling bling to your nails.

I know what you're thinking...they kinda look like the usual glitter polishes already available.  But no, the BYS Glitter for Nails aren't like your usual glitter polish where the glitters and the nail enamel are already mixed.  With the usual glitter polish, it's hard to get that consistent glittery finish.  And not to mention, it's too damn difficult to have them removed.

The kit includes a nail polish, a pot of fine cosmetic glitters and a cleaning brush.
(Php499)

With BYS Glitter for Nails, it's easy to have glamorous nails that look like you just had it professionally done. And the next best thing? It's a lot easier to take them off!

What you need to do:

1. Paint your nails
2. While the polish is still wet, dip your painted nail into the glitter pot making sure that the entire nail is covered with a layer of glitters.  (TIP: To make sure you got the entire nail covered, you can either dip your nail into the pot and push the glitters on one side OR you can use a folded paper that can be used to shovel glitters into your nails).
3. Wait for the polish to dry, but usually it's almost dry to the touch right after you had glitters on, then use the included brush to brush away excess glitters.  You can also work on a big piece of paper or tissue underneath so any glitter that will fall off while cleaning can still be put back into the pot.

It's that easy: it's just Paint, Dip and Brush! You're only a few minutes away from having glittery, glamorous nails that's red carpet worthy!

Here's an actual video when I was having my nails done:

(pardon the background chitchat...hahaha!)

And here's how my nails look like after:

Lovely, no!?
^_^

After a very satisfying dinner and a chance for me and my fellow bloggers to experience this new product from BYS, Shen, together with the big bosses of BYS Cosmetics gave us a short background of the company and of course, an overview of this new product.

Mr. Tony Chua of iFace Cosmetics, the official distributor of BYS Cosmetics here in the Philippines

Mr. Ed Aitken, Managing Director of BYS Australia, flew in for a short visit here in the country to grace the event

Rina Alcantara of Simply Rins, one of the best nail artists I know (you should try checking out her blog...she does amazing nail art!) was also there to give tips on how to use the product.  She also showed some sample nail art using BYS Glitter for Nails.

Sophie of Sample Room was also there to bring good news to my roomies at Sample Room: Sample Room and BYS Cosmetics have partnered up for this year. Yay!

It was indeed a very sparkling and glamorous night.
Thanks again to BYS Philippines!

BYS Brow and Eye Pencil in Brown...

TGIF!

What are you doing this weekend?  I'm coming in to work (Boo!) but will me meeting my family for dinner tomorrow, so yeah, it's still something I am excited about this weekend.  It's almost mid-April, 3 more weeks to go and it's gonna be my birthday!  Have you gotten me my gifts already!?
^_^

For today, I'll be telling you about the BYS Brow pencil.  You know me, I'm obsessed with my brows  so I am always on the look out for good brow stuff.  If you've watched my eyebrow tutorial, you'd see that I use a lot of products.  This pencil can actually cut it short by a wee bit, as this can already replace my pencil and brow powder...plus my k-palette brow liner even, if I don't need to make sure that I'll still have my brows intact the whole day.

BYS Brow and Eye Pencil in Brown

The shape reminds me of the Shu Uemura eyebrow pencil in Naginata cut.  Such cut is said to make filling in your brows a lot easier.  The strokes would look like brow hairs too, so it looks more natural.

Here it is on my brows:

Unlike the other brow pencils I've tried, this one from BYS is a bit soft and waxy.  It stays in that texture so yeah, this is not for those with oily skin as this is not smudgeproof.  I don't mind though because I'm used to setting my brows with either my Majolica Majorca Brow and Lash colorist or MAC Brow Set in Girl Boy.

brows after setting with Brow and Lash Colorist

What I like:
Easy to use
Affordable for the price of Php250.  You only need to brush a few strokes then shape your brows with a spoolie/eyebrow brush so this would last you for months
Looks natural, as if I've used a brow powder
Can also be used as an eye liner, but since it's not smudgeproof you would have to set this with a powder eye shadow so it won't slide off and give you panda eyes.

What I don't like:
Not smudgeproof

Overall, I like this product.  It's great for days when you're being a bit lazy to go through your usual brow routine, and still want great looking brows.  I am getting this in Blonde, as this one's a bit dark for me.

Check out their products at SM Department Stores and selected Watsons outlets.  You can also follow BYS Philippines on Facebook.

Affordable Luxury: BYS Cosmetics...

Have you heard of BYS Cosmetics?  I first saw this brand at the SM Department Store's Beauty section.  It's made in Australia and the first time I saw the products, it reminded me of NYX.  The packaging are simple and yet, I am so amazed with the wide range of products they offer. I was able to swatch some of the products at the counter, some are good, some are well...not so good.  But hey, the same thing is true with some high-end brands.  There can be a couple of hits, and a number of misses.

Here's a few of their items that I was able to try:

Quake Nail Enamel, Lipgloss and Lipstick Duo and Kohl Eyeliner

Quake Nail Enamel

I love this polish.  Among all the "Crack" polishes that I've tried, this is the easiest to use.  It doesn't clump and it "cracks" easily.  It applies thinly and yet it "cracks" to a nice finish giving your polish an artsy look.  Great for days when you're feeling a bit lazy to do nail art.
^_^

Lipgloss and Lipstick Duo
(Dusty Rose - Pucker Up Pink)

Honestly, I wasn't expecting anything amazing from these duos.  I didn't particularly like the packaging, as I find it too bulky...or too long?  And the first time I've swatched them, I just thought of it as so-so, but nahh..not after I've applied them on my lips.

Take a look:

Dusty Rose

An MLBB shade.
Weee, another lipcolor I could alternate with my MAC Peachstock!

Pucker Up Pink

I'm not really into reddish pinks but I just love how this lipcolor instantly brightens my face.

These duos apply easily, and doesn't make my lips dry.  I'm not really a fan of the scent, and I find the gloss a bit sticky.  But well, I like how it looks on me.  So, tiis-ganda na lang!

Kohl Eyeliner Pencil in Soft White

This reminds me of my MAC Fascinating. Applies easily and no tugging.  It doesn't guarantee that it'll stay put all day, but you can check out my tips on how to make eyeliner last longer and I'm pretty sure it would help a bit.

Try checking out this brand when you visit SM Department Store and some Watsons outlets.  They have a number of great products that you can choose from and what's even greater is that they are affordable.   They are coming up with their Spring and Summer collection soon and don't worry, I'll give you first dibs on that.
^_^

Happy Tuesday, everyone!
