Easy Foil Nail Art Using Ciate Very Colorfoil Manicure Kit

Image
Are you fond of doing nail arts?  I once was, but I don't think I have the talent for it unlike some people I know. But from time to time, I still try to do it and if ever I fail, I just charge it to experience. ^_^ Weeks ago, I was sent a sample of a manicure kit from Ciate.  I've been seeing Ciate in Sephora but never really gotten myself into checking it out. I know that they are famous with the caviar manicure, which I honestly find cute but unless you don't do house chores and a whole lot of other stuff, then I find it impractical.  But of course our nails do deserve some special treat from time to time (and so are we, yes!?) So don't be surprised if one day you'd see me with a caviar manicure. (wink wink) Anyway, what I got is this Colourfoil Manicure Kit in Kaleidoscope Klash which is a part of Ciate's Top Manicure picks.  Very Colourfoil Manicure in Kaleidoscope Klash  (AED 145) This is a limited edition and is inspi...

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in How Nude, Redgy and Wine Stock + The Reformulated Miracle Gel Top Coat

Image
What's up, my lovelies?  Yours truly went MIA again but I guess there's nothing new about that anymore, right? Hahaha!  Oh well, if only I could focus on my blog like I used to years ago. If you're not following me on IG yet, please do so as I post there often.  Too often, actually. So for today, it's gonna be about this line of nail polish that I am loving ATM.  What I love about these polishes is that they keep my nails looking good for 4-5 days before they start chipping. And that for me is already good since polishes only last 1-2 days then it starts chipping because I think I wash my hands too much and I apply hand cream too often.  These nail polishes  have the finish of a gel polish but without the need to cure under a UV light. They're cheaper and is easy to remove too. I love using gel polish on my nails because they really stay put until you have them removed but I have a number of things I don't like abo...

Do Your Own Gel Mani/Pedi with Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy

Image
Have you tried wearing gel manicure/pedicure?  I did. While I love the fact that it is indeed long lasting (2-3 weeks), I just hate that I need to go back to the salon to have it removed just because you can't remove it using the usual acetone.  And if you happen to have a dark shade of color, you are pretty much stuck with that color for weeks.  So what I do is I try to get a shade that can be topped off with another color when I am starting to get bored.  And yes, only the top color gets removed with acetone.   Another reason why I am not 100% involve with gel manicure/pedicure is that it takes a long time to get it done as it requires UV drying for every coat.  I usually get to spend more than an hour for cleaning plus gel manicure each time...twice that time when I want to have gel pedicure too!  And lastly, gel manicure/pedicure is expensive.  Here in UAE, it'll cost you almost AED300 (or more, depends on which salon).   ...

Sally Hansen Miracle Nail Thickener

Image
It's half past one in the morning and I know I'm supposed to be sleeping by now but instead, I am here typing away.  I just wanted to share with you my current favourite nail care product that I've been using for weeks and which actually helped me grow out my nails again. Sally Hansen Miracle Nail Thickener (AED 35) Made with calcium and ceramic gel formula, this can be used alone or as a base coat.  I prefer using it on its own because I've tried using it as a base coat twice in the past and my entire polish peeled off after just a few hours.  At first I thought I might have applied too much of it and/or the nail polish so I tried once again (1 coat of this and 2 coats of the nail polish) and the same thing happened.   As a nail treatment, I apply a single coat per day for 4 consecutive days (sometimes 5) and then remove it using an acetone. When I first used it for a few days,  I noticed that my nails aren't as bendy as they used...

Revlon Nail Parfumerie: Swatches + Review...

Image
I first saw these scented nail polishes from Revlon when I was in the Philippines last summer and I was like, "What's up with scented nail polishes?"   I didn't really bother checking them out so I don't have an idea if they are priced higher than the usual nail polish. If I did and found out that they are pricier, then maybe I'd be disappointed.  And will probably ask, "Why pay more for such nail polish with a scent that will go away in a few hours?"  Maybe I'd even say it's a total non-sense. Then months ago , I was given a chance to check them out and it totally changed my opinion. I got to look at them closely and 'twas not really their scents that made me realize they are worth trying out, but their colours and their staying power.  I've tried one shade and it did stay chip-free for days! I think it took 5 days before it started to chip and remained presentable for a few more days before I finally realized I need a polis...

MAC Nail Transformations Collection...

Image
If you love collecting nail polishes then this collection from MAC will definitely make your heart skip a beat.  Well, mine did! (Though I don't really collect nail polishes...yet!) MAC teamed up with Marian Newman, a former forensic scientist, to come up with a collection of nail lacquers and topcoats designed to give your nails a stylist twist. Choose any base color then use any of the top coats and have fun in coming up with endless possibilities of colors and effects. To give you an idea, here are some photos from Janine of Imabeautygeek (check her blog post here ) showing how amazing these top coats are: She used this Revlon black polish as base And look how the color transformed with each of the top coats from the collection:  Now, isn't that amaze-balls!? ^_^

Nail Paints by Barry M...

Image
Oh yes, I'm baaccck!  I know, it's not the first time I went MIA on this blog so I'm pretty sure you're already used to that. But I still want to explain myself why.  The reason of my sort of blogging-hiatus for some weeks was I focused on studying!  Yep, I finally decided on pushing thru with some certifications in line with my field and I took the first one last Thursday.  And I passed!  Woo-hoo!  Okay, it may not really be a big deal but I wasn't really expecting that I would pass.  I had a hard time studying (old age, maybe?) and I admit, I'd rather read about makeup.  So, I was literally trying so hard to stuff my little brain with a lot of geeky information. I could hear my heart beating so fast as I get nearer to the end of the exam. And when the score flashed at the end, I was like.."Oh yeaaah!" ^_^  Funny that someone actually thought that the reason why I haven't been writing much is that because, I am no longer getting...

Rimmel London Salon Pro Nail Polish by Kate in Rock 'N Roll….

Image
I left my collection of nail polishes at home.  And though it isn't that big, it took me years to come up such a collection.  I was not really into nail colours until I started getting samples from brands back in PH and also when Sol started having the most-sought brands of polishes available thru Digitaltraincase .  Well, she got addicted (aren't you still? haahha) to it first then she decided to help her fellow addicts get their hands on them too.   Now, I don't think I'm gonna start with a nail polish collection again soon but I admit, I am checking out some brands that we don't have back home.  And of course, the most accessible to me would be those from Rimmel because it's available in Spinneys, which is by the way my favourite grocery here in Dubai.  If it's not yet our Market Day and I need a few stuff in the kitchen, I go to Spinneys.  But please don't let X know that I check out the cosmetics section first! ^_^ Since I can't...

Nail Art: Spray Water Marble...

Image
Hiyee!   How's Monday treating you so far?  I'm kinda hoping it's still a weekend..as I miss watching my fave series as of the moment,The Vampire Diaries!  I know, I'm so late since I'm just on the last episodes of Season 1, but I'm getting there. LoL!   And can I just say, Damon is sooooo cute!  I love his smoldering eyes... ^_^ Anyways, I wanna show you this nail art that I've learned from my former classmate in HS who's so good in doing nail art.  Her name is Mia, go check her Instagram account nailsbymiawrrr.  Her works are amazing! By the way, here's what I came up with: And here's how I did it: 1. Apply primer (Revlon) and your base polish (Orly in Liquid Vinyl) of choice.  2.  On a disposable cup with warm water, put a few drops of another shade of polish of your choice. I chose Orly in Cotton Candy.  When you have the circle of polish in the water, spray some cologne (or any spray, I chose ...

Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy and Expressionist...

Image
I miss doing nail art.  I remember when I got so into it, I would change my polish as often as every other day.  I wish I can do it as often, but well, I simply can't. Good to know that a lot of brands are now coming up with nail polishes that can be used to create nail arts easier.  I've tried the BYS Glitter Dust for Nails  and it's such an easy way to have glamorous, red carpet-worthy tips in no time.   And then I got these nail art polishes from Revlon, which I'll be showing you for today's post... Revlon Moon Candy in Orbit Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy in Moon Dust These Moon Candy Nail Art polishes has a creme polish at one end and another end with iridescent flakies. The creme polishes are really opaque that one coat is already enough. Now to apply the flakies on top of your base can be difficult and quite messy.  First because it can be hard to get a good amount on the brush.  I actually kept on putting the brush ...

ANNY Nail Polish in Woman in Red...

Image
To all those who love to collect nail polishes might want to check out this new brand in town, ANNY .  Created in Los Angeles, California, the brand draws inspiration from three cities that are known in their influence when it comes to style and what's "IN" : Miami for its unique, zesty approach to summer wear, New York for its high fashion and LA for its glamorous, red-carpet appeal. I got lucky and was sent a sample of their polish in shade Woman in Red : It's the kind of red that can surely make your tips look sexy.  It's a classic bright red, the type that sort of reminds me of what the stars wear in a red-carpet event.  As you can see, it's so glossy even without a shiny top coat.  It's pigmented, a single coat is already enough for an opaque finish.  Applicator brush is flat and wide enough for easy application. Dries fast too! The polish lasts me 2-3 days before it starts chipping.  Fair enough, given that I type a...

A night of Glitz and Glamour at the BYS event...

Image
Do you love nail art but simply don't have the creative hands to do it? Or do you simply love glamorous nails but you don't have the time? Worry no more, BYS makes it a lot easier with their Glitter for Nails! With 11 gorgeous shades available, you are surely to find something to wear whenever you want to bring some bling bling to your nails. I know what you're thinking...they kinda look like the usual glitter polishes already available.  But no, the BYS Glitter for Nails aren't like your usual glitter polish where the glitters and the nail enamel are already mixed.  With the usual glitter polish, it's hard to get that consistent glittery finish.  And not to mention, it's too damn difficult to have them removed. The kit includes a nail polish, a pot of fine cosmetic glitters and a cleaning brush.   (Php499) With BYS Glitter for Nails, it's easy to have glamorous nails that look like you just had it professionally ...
