Product Review: The Color Institute palette

I must admit that the reason why i got this palette was because it's cute. the packaging is cute, colors are cute. period. i had no idea of its staying power but i did swatch a few before i bought it. (Sophie got herself one too!)

anyways, i know i had to test it rightaway so i can justify myself in buying it. i just can't tell anybody that well, i got it because it's cute. i had to give more reasons, feasible reasons...
on to my Monday night looks:

EYES:
UDPP
MAC paintpot in Painterly
Yellow and Teal e/s from my Color Institute palette
Modelco browkit in Dark topped with clear mascara
MAC fluidline in BlackTrack on the upper lashlines
MAC Loud Lash Mascara

FACE:
Smashbox Photofinish Primer light
Lauress Minimalist foundation in Radiant Ivory topped with Fantastic Finish in Medium
MAC blush in Dollymix
Sculpt and Shape to contour nose

LIPS:
Revlon l/s in Pink in the Afternoon
MAC Gellee in Dewy Jube

Like Sophie, my initial complain was it's hard to get colors from the pans. You really have to scratch it to be able to pack color on your brushes. But i love the colors...they are not that vibrant, they are more on the pastels side but it's okay. as for the staying power...well, even MAC creases on my uber oily lids. so i've been using UDPP (and now topped with paintpot) eversince i started wearing eye makeup. so i really can't say if this will stay long without primer. In my case, i know it won't.

for its price of Php595, i can say this is a good buy most especially for those who are just starting with putting on makeup.

this brand's also selling this uber cute makeup traincase with lights for only Php4950. I sooo want to get it but, geesh, im really broke and i'm not even done yet with my schooling. but i so want that traincase, most especially now that i finally got to appreciate the use of lights and mirrors when you are putting on makeup.
