Product Review: Garner SOS Blemish Clear Pen

i just realized recently that my skin breaks out during the -ber months (September-December). I've been suffering from cystic acne lately and i just grew tired of worrying about new one popping out everyday. i told myself that i'd go back to OBAGI after all these pimples dry up...but i am getting impatient of waiting when that day would come.

i almost resorted to using that spot treatment i tried years ago which left me scarred for a long time. those dark pimple scars haunted me for such a long time until i met Obagi. i was on the look out for a good pimple spot remover that would take care of my angry red bumps so i can start Obagi in no time.

good thing i found this:

Garnier Pure SOS Anti-Blemish Spot Pen

contains zinc for its controlling properties, an anti-bacterial agent for its cleansing power, and 100% natural cucumber extract for its energizing and skin-hydrating qualities. This combination of natural active ingredients replies completely and efficiently to all problems associated with oily skin.

To use:

1. First cleanse your face and thoroughly dry it.Apply Garnier Pure Shine Control Moisturizer and then use the Garnier Pure SOS Anti-Blemish Spot Pen directly on the blemishes.

2. Give it a few seconds to react.

3. Finally, add your makeup (foundation, powder, etc.).And no matter how much makeup you use, the results will always be the same!Reuse during the day, if you feel your blemish needs it.

my pimples (eeewww!)

what i love:

it goes on clear so it doesn't mess up with my makeup
cheap, sells for Php179 for a tube

comes in a sticky, gel form so it doesn't drip

packaging comes in a travel-friendly tube

the cool menthol feel when applied
decreases redness overnight (i applied it right before i went to bed so not sure if redness decreased in 5hrs as they claim)

my pimples the next day
(notice that it's a bit more dry and less swollen)

what i hate:
the consistency becomes so sticky that it messes up with foundation

on the 3rd day
(dried out, a bit of bump left but not swollen anymore)

overall, i am loving this blemish clear pen from Garnier. it definitely helped in decreasing the redness and swelling...and aids in drying up the pimple. unlike the other blemish spot pens i've tried before, it also doesn't leave a dark scar...there's a bit of a scar but not that dark. as for the clearing up of the scar, i will still wait til i've seen some improvements.

will i buy again?
YES!

tips:
before applying foundation, make sure the gel is really dry first. it would be better to just dab the gel on the blemish using your finger. blend it well before applying makeup.
to be more hygienic, you can use a cotton bud to get some of the gel from the tube then dab it on the blemish
do not put too much

hi, i just stumbled on your blog. i love the way you do eye make-up, it looks so neat & pretty. what brushes do you use to blend it out?

but anyways.. have you tried using honey mixed with crushed aspirin as a face mask? it works sooo amazing for pimples. look it up on makeupalley.com
