LA Splash Smitten Waterproof Liptint Mousse in Charmed, Lovegood and Nymph-adora

And so after hearing a lot of good (and some bad) things about these long-wearing matte lipsticks from LA Splash, I finally gave in and ordered a few.  Inggiterang palaka, I know.  But after trying them, I told myself I should've jumped into the bandwagon a long time ago.  And maybe, just maybe, this blog post won't be this late.  Hahaha, but that's fine.  I'm used to being outdated. And besides, my wallet won't like it if I always try to be updated with what's new in the makeup industry.  Tee-hee!

For today's post, it will be about the three shades that I got from the LA Splash Smitten Lip Tint Mousse. Believe me, I had a hard time choosing shades.  There are a number available at DTCMakeup site, and as much as I wanted to get everything, I had to keep myself from doing so.  Thank god for Sol, for guiding me and suggesting shades that she knows I would wear.  That's one thing that I love about her, unlike other sellers, she won't be pushing you to buy stuff that she knows you won't even get to use.  So yes, I highly recommend her and her shop.

(Php600/each)
These lippies are so pigmented and the color stays true all day.  I'm pretty sure you've come across some lippies that change color as the day go by.  These lippies don't.  It's liquid-y when first applied and then dries up to a waterproof and smudgeproof finish that will not transfer (as long as you let it set first). It might fade a bit on the inner part of the lips, but overall, it still looks fine...at least for me.  Not sure for the others though.

So here are the shades that I got from this line:

Charmed - Lovegood - Nymph-adora

LA Splash Smitten Lip Tint Mousse in Charmed

Charmed looks like a peachy-nude on the tube and on the wand, but looks like a pinkish nude when swatched. When worn on the lips, it looks absolutely different. It's nude with some purplish tint. I'm not saying that I am not liking it but it just didn't look like how I expected it to be. Nevertheless, it looks okay. I just need to make it look less dry when worn.

Just another nude lippie  to go with my strong eye makeup looks
^_^

LA Splash Smitten Lip Tint Mousse in Lovegood

Lovegood is a rosy mauve.  It appears too purple on my lips, but I like it.  Luckily, purples look better on me than reds and loud pinks.  I've worn this for quite a few times since I got it and I always get compliments. This is my favorite shade among the three.

LA Splash Smitten Lip Tint Mousse in Nymph-adora

Nymph-adora is a chocolate brown with red undertones.  Not the shade that I would usually wear but nevertheless, I think it looks good on me too. Yay or nay?

Kylie Jenner lips, yes!?
^_^

Take note that I was not wearing any lip balm/primer on any of the photos above. My lips are perpetually dry, but for some reason, it looked a lot drier when I was wearing Charmed.  I was told to moisturize the lips prior to application, much better if you can let it soak in moisture for a longer period of time before applying the lip tint.  And so I did that, and it did make a difference!  The lines on my lips are still obvious, yes, but it's not as bad as when I am not wearing any lip balm.  I know I have my MAC prep and prime for the lips somewhere so I'm gonna try using that also and let's see if that will lessen, if not totally diminish those lip lines.

Among the 3, I've worn Lovegood and Nymph-adora in the office. They stayed on for a good 4 hours (water and coffee in between) with a wee bit of fading on the inner part of the lips, but they started flaking off after I had my lunch.  It withstood water, but not the oil from my food. Fortunately, these shades leave a tint on the lips so I didn't end up with bare-looking lips.

I don't recommend re-applying unless you take everything off first. Better start with a clean canvass than layering it on. When you layer on, the color is more likely to smudge, flake and look dry on your lips.  Once it dries, taking it off can be quite a pain too so I suggest using waterproof makeup remover or wipes. I use the Neutrogena makeup wipes and it works great.  If you are quite sensitive with scent I need to warn you that these lipcolors  smell like paint. But worry not, as the scent goes away after a few seconds.

I also suggest that you use a lip liner first to draw an outline on your lips just in case there will be a few spots that you'll miss when you apply the lip tint. Unless of course you are a pro in applying lippies with this formulation.  Again, layering is a no-no. Try to apply it thinly besides, you don't need too much since these babies goes on opaque even with one layer.

They do feel dry on the lips, but still comfortable.  I've tried other long-wearing lippies in the past which seriously felt like I have cement on my lips. Fortunately, I don't feel that when I'm using these lip tints. Overall, I am liking these lippies except for Charmed which I think makes me look like I'm sick or something.  It's nude, yes, but I guess matte nudes don't look good on me.  But still, I would have to find a way to make this shade work on me.  Sayang eh!
