Product Review: The Body Shop Lightening Touch

Best if you want to:
Brighten your skin while hiding imperfections and dark circles with an indispensable, liquid makeup.

Best for:
all skin types, especially those prone to dark shadows

What it is designed to do:
Light reflective particles (mica) instantly brightens skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines.
Community Trade marula oil from Namibia helps to repair skin’s moisture barrier.
Portable twist-up pack with gentle applicator brush makes product convenient and hygienic

Available in 3 shades:
01, 02 and 03

I've been using this for almost 2 years...the reason? well, aside from my (really) dark eyebags, i can't make myself buy its more expensive counterpart..the YSL Touche de Eclat. So i tried this one. And i must say, this really works!

shade in 03, the lightest among the 3

what i love:
  • it works! not much of a concealer but it helps in brightening the undereye area. what i do is i apply a concealer first (Cinemasecrets) then apply this on top. I would pat this using my fingers...and sometimes i set it with a powder concealer (like Oceanmist Saffron concealer)
  • the packaging. it's travel-friendly, fits my purse and with its applicator, it's easy to apply!
  • can also be used to brighten other areas that you want to highlight...like bridge of the nose, middle of the forehead, etc.
  • gives me no allergies
what i hate:
  • it doesn't last me a long time. maybe i've been using too much? lol..i think it only last me less than a month when used everyday
  • i still need to apply concealer first before this so it will give more coverage.
  • this doesn't come cheap. but yeah, it works...and at least cheaper than YSL.
  • takes time to dry up that i would sometimes need to set it with powder
apply...

then pat, pat, pat...
see how it settles on fine lines when you applied too much? LOL

i like this product...but not really loving it. I've found something else that works as well, if not better. And nope, it's not YSL Touche de Eclat.

will post that one soon :)
